I have a 14 year old and 11 year old after 3 miscarriages so it is possible, don’t give up hope. Nurture and be kind to yourself, have they started any investigations? Sending well wishes to you

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/10/2022 22:46

My BIL and his wife had twins. X

AdriannaP · 19/10/2022 22:48

I had a baby last year after 3 miscarriages!

hopefullsosbry · 20/10/2022 13:12

Thanks for sharing guys, @gateacre1 yes we had two miscarriages natural and had one via IVF .. we have two frozen left to try but seems that it will never happen and the odds go up after each new miscarriage, of having another one .. just need some good news I think to keep me hopeful. Thanks

I had two children after 5 miscarriages. I asked the consultant if anyone has children after 5 losses, and she said "most people". Take heart, OP - it's such a difficult position to be in ❤️

clary · 20/10/2022 13:31

Yes a friend and also a family member had perfectly healthy babies (now a primary age child and university age teen) after three MCs. Natural conception in each case. MCs are so common they only look into it at all after three - in both my examples medical investigations were due to start when they became pg and carried to term.

Sorry you are struggling OP. Hoping for a good outcome for you.

I've had 4 (3 natural, 1 ivf) over 5 years. I am now under the care of a private miscarriage clinic and on lots of drugs as tests show my body attacks embryos. Prior to the miscarriages I had a healthy baby. Are you pregnant now?

AdriannaP · 20/10/2022 19:14

@hopefullsosbry yes
i took blood thinners, aspirin, progesterone, high dose vit b and vit d. I assume you have had lots of tests etc? Have you tried progesterone?

hopefullsosbry · 20/10/2022 19:18

I have any daughter , that’s was 20 years ago ehee we n I was 19 .. I am now 39 with a diff partner who has no kids, we have been trying for 3 years .. one of which has been ivf as my age we didn’t want to wait any longer, how do they test for that @seven201 ? How would I know if that’s the case ? They scanned my etc and tested thyroid but all seems fine, partner has slightly low perameters but nothing severe? Sorry to hear you have all lost but glad for some of you that you went on to have a healthy pregnancy.. it’s so good to hear it can end in a happy ending xx

I had four miscarriages at 8 weeks each and then had two healthy babies, now 22 and 19.Smile

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 20/10/2022 19:20

A close friend of mine had 13 losses over a 9 year period. Had completely given up hope of carrying a baby to term. Now has a beautiful 13yr old DC! Miracles (or whatever you want to call them) do happen Flowers

TheVanguardSix · 20/10/2022 19:20

I had DC3 after 3 losses. I was 42 and a sucker for punishment but we women persevere for a good reason (a reason that’s yours and that’s good/important enough).

How old are you and how’s your thyroid function? Any autoimmune stuff going on?

I highly recommend an anti inflammatory diet, lots of good fats and antioxidants. Treat your gut well too and take probiotics.
❤️

Currently about to give birth after 3 miscarriages in the last year. I started asprin until 12 weeks this time, not sure it helped or it was just luck.
Hope you have a happy ending.

TheVanguardSix · 20/10/2022 19:23

Oh! Goodness! I hadn’t read your update regarding age and thyroid! Sorry OP!
Yep! All of my losses were between 38-40. It’s not at all uncommon. But don’t give up unless you really want to. Miracles do indeed happen. ❤️

hopefullsosbry · 20/10/2022 19:23

@AdriannaP they didn’t recommend the extra prog .. ? My 1st miscarriages I went for 11 week scan and there was no heart beat, I never bled the whole time time after the scan it all came away naturally.. as I didn’t bleed they don’t think it would benefit me ?! 🤷🏼‍♀️ My lining extra all seems thick ? Thanks

My friend and her DH of 15 years had no children and a difficult time ttc. They went for ICSI when she was 39. That little baby is now 20.

DS has a friend, a strapping young adult, who was born after 10 or 11 miscarriages.

Best wishes for successful pregnancy soon x

miltonj · 20/10/2022 19:29

A friend of mine had 7 miscarriages, and then 3 babies conceived naturally.

PrescriptionOnlyMedicine · 20/10/2022 19:34

💐for you OP, it’s a difficult and upsetting thing. I had two early and one very late loss and fourth time lucky for me. My kid is 18 now. Wishing you all the best.

Northbynorthbreast · 20/10/2022 19:49

Sorry to hear this OP. Yes, I have a good friend who had five losses before her son and another four losses before her daughter. Both kids now school age. It was a horrible, horrible time and several were missed miscarriages, all around 9 weeks. She found anti inflammatory diet/ gluten free seemed to make the difference second time around x

seven201 · 20/10/2022 20:25

@hopefullsosbry it was found through immune tests. I go to the CRP clinic in epsom, Surrey (they have a clinic in Harley street too). To help prevent miscarriages due to immune response I’m on: aspirin, progesterone, ubiquinol q10, hydroxychloroquine, intralipid infusions, steroids, levothyroxine (thyroid, just for ttc), metformin (pcos). The tests are expensive, the treatment is expensive, but i’m 40 now and running out of time desperate. I’ve had one pregnancy with them, with slightly less meds, and it’s the furthest I’ve got in a pregnancy, so I have hope that it could work.

My IVF clinic were very much just keep trying. Yes I did have some extra tests, but they were not pro immune tests and had previously said no to giving me steroids. Some ivf clinics do say keep trying without extra test until 3 failures, but I regret that wasted time. In my case I actually had scar tissue acting like a natural coil, so I had 4 ivf transfers that had no chance of working and wasted 2 years and shit loads of money! If I’d gone with an ivf clinic who does more initial tests eg saline sonogram that would have been picked up. My point is it might be worth pushing for more tests. Good luck

hopefullsosbry · 20/10/2022 20:43

@seven201 fingers crossed for you, I really hope it works and that you have a healthy pregnancy with a Happy baby 🥰… I shall defo be looking into this and will contact my GP and fertility clinic to ask about these testing. What is ‘saline sonogram’? Does it scan the womb ? They have done the ‘bog standard’ ovarian scan that everyone gets before ivf , all seemed fine?! I have had a coil in for 3 years a few years ago and wonder if that could have caused some kind of scarring in my womb ? Thanks so much for sharing, it’s such an emotional rollercoaster, hats of to you for being so strong and not giving up 💕xx
