Hi OP, I have a similar story to the previous poster and also went to the CRP clinic in Epsom, their testing for causes of recurrent miscarriages is extensive and more than was offered elsewhere. I would strongly urge you to have a consultation and the recommended blood tests before proceeding with using any more of your embryos.

Following multiple losses I had a successful pregnancy first time (via IVF) on the prescribed protocol.

Another thought is whether you had your embryos genetically tested? I had two eggs collections, the first we only had one genetically normal embryo from 10 but the second time we got 6 from 12. These were when I was 38.

Good luck in your journey. Don't give up xx

I had 3 back to back then live birth at 40. I went for some tests after the third which showed I have Antiphosolipid Syndrome or 'sticky blood'. It causes tiny blood clots that can't support pregnancy. Treatment through the pregnancy was simple and straightforward with extra monitoring.

Given you can get pregnant, IVF is helpful but not the answer. Go for tests.

Equally, it can just be bad luck which is utter shite - but at 39 and 3 miscarriages, you need more info to work with.

Good luck x

CRP can do saline sonograms too, my ivf clinic don't have the equipment. It's not too bad, it's a speculum then a tube to fill up the uterus with saline and a trans vaginal scan. Just a bit crampy with the tube/fluid. A hysterocopy is the alternative and is a more thorough look - under sedation of general. I had one recently and they removed the adhesions at the same time.

I guess a coil could cause scaring. It's something that could be worth ruling out. Problem with testing is it does take a chunk of time out of ttc but can be worth if.

GPs probably won't do a lot of the blood tests, but probably would do some that might help and save some costs.

Me, I did!

I had a chemical pregnancy Jan 2020 ended on it's own at 7 weeks.

Miscarriage at 6.5 weeks June 2020

Miscarriage at 5 weeks September 2020

At the age of 39 conceived naturally on my next cycle in October 2020 only 2 weeks after miscarriage

Now have a 15 month old son. Born July 2020

I know lots of people who have had multiple miscarriages, it's a lot more common than people think. Your definitely not alone.

Thanks guys .. I’ll be phoning my GP today to see if I can get referrals for this type of thing, we are at a private fertility clinic in Glasgow as we live in Scotland, I shall also phone my clinic and ask if they offer any of these testing but I don’t think they do ?! Hopefully I find somewhere local ‘ish’ that we can get further testing. Thanks 🙏

The tests I had were basic and available on the NHS. In fact I'm surprised you didn't have these tests before IVF commenced. Perhaps you did but they didn't confirm the details to you? It's just a set of blood tests.

If you did for example have APS and it's untreated, successful Pregnancy is really low, like 20%. So IVF wouldn't be a good path without knowing this.

That said, the NHS only test after 3 recurrent misscarriages. Deff phone everybody and get booked in.

Losses at 19, 24, 29 weeks, plus a few early miscarriages, but then a healthy baby girl who is now a delightful healthy adult. Miscarriages happen very frequently but so do healthy pregnancies.
