Hi everyone, I just wanted to get some advice... I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago (7th Feb), I had medical management that day. I feel like I've only just recovered physically but I took a pregnancy test and a ovulation test today and the pregnancy test is still showing a very faint line, but the ovulation test is showing an LH surge. Is this even possible?! Are my hormones just confused or this there a possibility that you can ovulate 2 weeks after a miscarriage. Also how can you have a LH surge if there are still pregnancy hormones in your body!! Any advice would be appreciated x

@Ellie5341 I think it's just stuff they have to tell you in the rare cases that it can go wrong, I think it's extremely unlikely but it just made me think twice about it, I'll have it if I need to but I think I'll wait it out a little longer.

That's good that you're testing negative! Fingers crossed AF arrives soon 🤞

My tests are still positive, it's been over 5 weeks now and still no period!

@Hoping4second thank you this is helpful. It's good to know your body can still continue working while still testing positive, I was worried it would stall my period.

I was also told not to try again until after my first period, but not for any medical reason but because it can making dating the pregnancy confusing and cause more anxiety!

How far along were you with your MC? I had one last week - surprise pregnancy so unsure of dates, but I think somewhere between 4 and 5 and a bit weeks - bleeding only lasted 2 days, but a week later I’m still getting positives on one step strips. I had no idea it would last so long. When I previously had a CP the positives had disappeared before I started bleeding so this headfuck is all new to me….

I wish you all luck going forward. This is a poo place to be. And I’ve gone from not actively trying (but considering whether we should give it a shot for a third) to really wanting to jump back on the TTC wagon….

I had a mmc which ultimately ended up with baby passing exactly 2 weeks ago today, I only just tested negative in pregnancy test yesterday. I usually ovulate day 16/17 usually my ovu line gradually increase and I have borderline high lh for 1 day then 2 days deffo positive, this time I had nothing up until an hour ago where its gone straight to deffinently positive all the other usual signs kicking in now. I didn't even have a faint line on ovu strips past few days even this morning was as white as paper ! So deffo think it's possible posting for reference for anybody

Definitely possible! I had a scan today as I’m still testing positive 3 weeks after an MVA for a missed miscarriage. I told the consultant I had niggling pains in my RHS before she even started scanning, told her it felt like ovulation pains (we both laughed it off knowing it’s probably not possible with a positive test). She scanned me and confirmed I was ovulating! She could see the eggs and everything. So it is actually possible to ovulate whilst having HCG in your system. She couldn’t even explain why or how, she just said it’s science and there’s lots we still don’t know! Xx
