Hi ladies, I had a missed miscarriage recently - this week I was supposed to be 11 weeks but had an early scan this week and found out the baby no longer had a heartbeat and it had passed away inside of me at 7 weeks. I had to have MVA surgery 4 days ago. Me and my partner feel so heartbroken, we really wanted this baby 💔 Has anyone had a similar experience? The doctors told me I need to wait for bleeding to stop, wait to take a pregnancy test which needs to come back as negative, and wait for at least one period of cycle to come back before we start TTC again - is this right?? What was your TTC journeys like after having a missed miscarriage and how long did it take for you to get pregnant again? Would love to hear your experiences, thanks!

I had a MMC between DS2 and DS3. At 10 weeks I had a tiny bit of spotting and had a scan, no baby. In retrospect I’d had hardly any nausea or other symptoms but just thought I was having an easier pregnancy. Had a D & C under GA as that was the norm 20 years ago. I had a normal period around a month later and got pregnant straight after. Good luck OP. Flowers

@MatildaJayne I am so sorry for your loss! Yes I felt my first pregnancy which was this MMC, I had absolutely no nausea at all, all the way until baby had passed away at 7 weeks no nausea. Thank you so much that gives me so much hope with ttc after first period cycle when it returns. Really appreciate you sharing this x

Bless you, MrsZeeDee. My consultant said there was no need to wait for more than one cycle. My DS3 is at university now. 😍

@MatildaJayne Aww bless your kids, all grown up now!! So happy for you!! 😍 Yes my doctor also said the same thing that I just need to wait for only one cycle before we can start trying again, hopefully it's a more positive story soon x

So sorry op. I had a MMC at 11 weeks earlier in the year. You can start trying as soon as you stop bleeding I believe - I didn't as I didn't feel ready. The waiting for a period is more for ease of dating a hopeful future pregnancy. Wishing you luck

Sorry to hear about this.

I had a MMC - it was discovered at a scan at around 9 weeks that they couldn't see a heartbeat,, but they wouldn't do anything about it in case I had my dates wrong - but I knew I hadn't. They scanned again the following week and found that for some reason the pregnancy sac had grown, so still played cautious. The following week they finally decided and I had a D&C. It really was a hellish period.

I conceived again about three months later but had a normal miscarriage at around 8 weeks. Then I conceived again about three months after that, and went to full term and had my lovely daughter.

@sittingdownb I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC too, I hope things have been better for you since 💕 Yes for dating pregnancy it makes it easier so I think I'd want to wait for just the one period, would help with my anxiety of it all too! Thank you so much! X

@Platax I'm so incredibly sorry to hear of your MMC and the MC after, how terrible it must have been, it's such a truly devastating thing to experience, and I'm sorry you had to go through it twice !! Over the moon for you to hear you now have your lovely daughter 💕 I hope you are both doing well. Thank you so much for sharing!!
