Hi

I recently found out I was pregnant which we were really happy about, I then went for an early scan and nothing was there but I was showing positive on a pregnancy test.
Slowly after I started bleeding so panicked and went straight to a&e.

They sent me home and then I ended up back there the next day and admitted into hospital to spend the night. They repeated scans which again showed nothing.

Now for the past week and a half I’ve had bloods every 2 days which has shown a slight increase in hcg each time however they still can’t find where the pregnancy is.

I just feel so on edge and anxious as have no idea what’s going on or how long I need to wait to get a final decision from the Dr’s re next steps.

Has anyone been through this before and was it a long process?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks @Drowninginwashing that is exactly what I needed to hear right now! Congratulations 😊

Day 7 bloods tomorrow so keeping everything crossed that it has worked... Shtting bricks because I really don’t want a second dose! Fingers crossed for you too @Son2020*. Today I felt a lot less tired and a lot better generally so hoping this is the beginning of the end! Keep having stomach pains on and off which is stressful to say the least. They’re not bad at all but enough for me to panic that I’m having a rupture each time I feel something 🙄 hopefully if bloods are ok tomorrow I can start to relax a bit!

Hope you’re ok after your scan @Chlo2701 xxx

Littlemrsslc · 15/09/2020 21:13

Hey this has happened to me today 8w and went in for scan after normal spotting nothing in the womb and possible eptopic ... going back in 2 days to make sure x

Chlo2701 · 16/09/2020 09:33

Thankyou @Gemc81 @Son2020 @Kate105 had scan yesterday & all had come away like it should. She did say I had little cysts on ovaries but nothing to worry about as they'll go away on their own.
Still just feeling really empty & like we're back at square one. I can't even bring myself to throw out all my positive pregnancy tests, feel like they're kind of sentimental. Is that strange? Hope all you ladies are ok?
I really hope it is true what they say, that you're more fertile after a loss, as I can't bare to have to wait another 15months to fall pregnant 😣 xx
@Drowninginwashing Thankyou I really needed to read this aswel! It's made me feel abit better. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx

Son2020 · 17/09/2020 17:27

@Drowninginwashing that is lovely to read and gives me hope for the future for sure.

@Kate105 the stomach cramps/pains are awful aren’t they just make you panic. I’m glad to hear you were a lot less tired and I hope you’re 7 day bloods went ok and you’re ok as can be.

@Littlemrsslc I’m really sorry to hear this and I hope you’re doing ok. It’s such an awful feeling and I’m really sorry that you’re going through it.

@Chlo2701 defo not strange at all, I took loads and didn’t want to throw them out as I felt the same. It’s horrible to feel back at square one. I’m really sorry

My injection didn’t work, the bloods didn’t drop enough so I’ve been admitted into hospital and they’re going to do surgery which is just even more traumatic as I now can’t try again for 3 months and also have to lose a tube. Trying to keep as positive as I can be but just so upsetting xx

@Son2020 omg love I'm just so so sorry. There's nothing anyone can do or say to make you feel better. Such a shit awful horrific time for you😢😢😢 I Hope the surgery goes ok. I've just got no words. You're in my thoughts 💕💕💕

Kate105 · 17/09/2020 21:53

Omg @Son2020 literally the same thing has happened to me! Currently on the hospital ward after having surgery this afternoon. I’ve felt better for sure but could also be a lot lot worse... liquid morphine is the shit!

I cried loads yesterday when they told me the jab hadn’t worked but today I am determined to stay positive and just move on from this. At least it’s all sorted now and once I have recovered physically the rest will come. Sending you lots and lots of support. We will be fine!

@Drowninginwashing can I ask if you had a tube removed or just methotrexate?

Drowninginwashing · 17/09/2020 22:05

Hi guys, so sorry that this is happening to you all and got my fingers crossed for your surgery @Kate105 and @Son2020.

I was really lucky, my body just kind of slowly sorted itself out and I didn't need trearment. I bled for a loooong time- think about 8 weeks - and i had lots of scans and blood tests. The sonographer said my left tube where it happened is now partially blocked and if I conceived from that side again i would likely have another ectopic, which was scary but I have been lucky twice now. I don't think i will attempt a third child!!

Son2020 · 17/09/2020 22:23

@Chlo2701 thank you, I really appreciate it, it’s just awful. You think it’s over but then it’s not, emotionally draining.

@Kate105 thank you 😊, no way, that’s crazy. Hope you’re ok and surgery went ok. I was the same cried non stop this morning and now in for the night until surgery tomorrow. Yeah exactly at least it’s sorted now and you can hopefully just focus on getting better. I’m trying to do the same, keeping positive and just thinking once surgery is done then it’s sorted and I can focus on getting better to try again. Yes we will be all good xxx

@Drowninginwashing thank you xxxx

@Son2020 I genuinely feel better after having the surgery. Think it’s maybe giving me a bit of closure? Although it could just be the painkillers! 😂 Good luck tomorrow, I’ll be thinking of you. Let us know how you get on. I’m hoping to get out tomorrow afternoon all being well.

Thanks @Drowninginwashing your support is just wonderful xxx

Littlemrsslc · 17/09/2020 22:48

Hey guys update on my day
So after have my bloods done again it rises the hcg by only like 26 and they said ectopic ... there is no pain for me and they checked my cervix. There hoping I’m natural going to pass it. However if it rises again by Saturday when I test one more time I’m going to have key hole surgery. They won’t even give me the option to have the injection as it can have complication in future as it’s a toxin for you and the womb. So it’s either natural for me or surgery. I’m so scared I was hysterical in hospital today. 28 first pregnancy and the first month trying ... it’s honestly already nearly put me off trying again

Kate105 · 18/09/2020 07:45

Good luck with your bloods @Littlemrsslc keeping everything crossed for you! It’s my first pregnancy too and on the first cycle of trying, so similar! I’m 29. I know how you feel about being disheartened but I’m sure time will be a great healer. We’re going to be fine 😊 keep us posted!

Good luck with your surgery today @Son2020 xxx

Kate105 · 21/09/2020 12:06

Hi everyone just wanted to check in and see how you’re doing! I’m 5 days post surgery and getting a little bored at home already, but I guess that’s a good thing in a way! Still quite sore and stiff but can definitely see that I’m on my way back to normal. Seem to be ok emotionally too 🤞🏻

Hope you’re all ok too xx

Littlemrsslc · 21/09/2020 13:03

I was supose to have surgery today but they have decided to leave me for a week and hope my levels go down again. The scan still didn’t show anything but I had a lot let fluid in it etc

Son2020 · 21/09/2020 13:19

Hey @Kate105 my surgery went well I believe but I’m still really sore at the moment, just been trying to rest as much as possible and then little walks around the house also. 2 of my cuts seem to be fine but the belly button one is causing the most pain 😔 I’m still having to take painkillers Sad I’m signed off for 2 weeks which I’m hoping will be long enough to recover physically and emotionally. I’m glad you’re doing ok, hope you’re getting lots of rest in

@Littlemrsslc fingers crossed it drops down for you so you don’t have to have surgery. Hope you’re ok xx
Xxxx

Hey everyone, just wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing? Xx

OP posts:
smallpotatoes7 · 25/09/2020 07:46

Hi all. I had surgery to remove an ectopic on Wednesday. This is my second tube removal I had my fist one taken out six years ago and I have had two healthy pregnancies inbetween. I chose tube remove over the meds as I didn't ever want to be at Risk of en ectopic again. In a little sore as others have said but I'm just happy to be home with my other kids. Hope everyone is ok x

Asiama · 25/09/2020 07:56

Hi @Son2020, I missed your thread when you first posted and have just seen this. I'm sorry to read what you and others are going through. I had an ectopic 4 years ago and had my tube removed in an emergency operation. This was after previously suffering a miscarriage.

I recovered physically in about 4 weeks but had occasional but manageable pain for about 6 months. It resolved by itself. It took me a few years to feel ready to try again and when we did, I fell pregnant within 6 months and had a normal pregnancy. I was really surprised because I also have PCOS, irregular periods and adhesions, and the consultant at the time said I am likely to need IVF.

At the time of the ectopic and for about a year later I felt awful and kept constantly googling for stories of other women to give me hope. I hope my story will also give someone some hope that things can still work out in the future.

Kate105 · 25/09/2020 09:24

Hi @Son2020 nice to hear from you! How are you getting on? I had a bit of a bad day yesterday. It’s been a week since the surgery and I just felt really frustrated about being stuck at home and feeling rubbish. I’m feeling better again today, though, so hopefully I’m over that pity party! I’ve got one more week off work and then I’ll be back to almost normal hopefully.

Hope you’re doing ok @smallpotatoes7, sorry to hear you’re in the same position. Sending you lots of good wishes.

Thanks for sharing your story @Asiama I am definitely spending a lot of time googling these kinds of things! It’s so reassuring to hear success stories :)

Hope everyone is ok xxx

adviceneededplease224 · 25/09/2020 13:05

Hi can I join please for advice

Sorry to hear of your losses

I had an ectopic and tube removal last year

I'm now pregnant again and had a scan yesterday because of risk of ectopic. Nothing seen

They took bloods and I have to have more on Saturday to see what is happening but the results don't look good

Hcg 234
Progesterone 17.4

Any experiences?

I'm terrified that it's another ectopic!

smallpotatoes7 · 25/09/2020 13:30

@adviceneededplease224 I've just had a second tube removed. Try not worry hopefully your just early and that's why they can't see anything. I had two normal healthy pregnancies after my first tube removal. When are you back in? For more tests? X

adviceneededplease224 · 25/09/2020 14:03

Sorry to hear of your second ectopic @smallpotatoes7

That's what I am dreading.. I really think it's so unlucky to go through it twice! I am convinced it's ectopic because I've got a little discomfort in my tubeless side and I've read you can get it in the stump that is left behind

I've been googling ( probably a bad idea) and they say progesterone needs to be 35 to be viable so mine is too low. The nurse did say it was not good news and a lot lower than they would like to see

I'm back for more on Saturday and then get the results Monday

It's going to be a long weekend!

Hope you are recovering x

smallpotatoes7 · 25/09/2020 14:28

@adviceneededplease224

the waiting is awful, make sure you keep busy and if the pain gets worse, you feeling any shoulder pain or any bleeding go back before the appointment.

I think the tube removal was the best option for me, I never want to have an ectopic again and I have two dc that keep me very busy.

smallpotatoes7 · 26/09/2020 14:47

Does anyone still have prog symptoms after tube removal?? I must still have the hgc hormone in my system as my boobs are still hurting and I felt sick this morning!!! And I've not started to bleed yet? Ahhh it's a bloody crap time!

Kate105 · 26/09/2020 15:03

I actually didn’t bleed at all after the op @smallpotatoes7 but then I had been bleeding for a solid two weeks beforehand so I think I’ve had my fair share! I think it usually takes 2-4 weeks for HCG levels to drop to non-pregnant levels, so that’s probably why. It’s really crap but hope you’re ok! X

smallpotatoes7 · 26/09/2020 15:14

@Kate105 yes I'm fine thanks. Just so annoyed this has happened a second time to me!! But I can't really remember much after the first time but it was six years ago. I've spent the days watching films in bed with the kids, it's been nice to just relax for once!
