I finally got pregnant with my first baby after 1.5 years of trying and have just miscarried at 5 weeks, anyone else been in the same boat and had any success stories? I’m so worried it’ll happen again xx

@Helensss Flowers x

Thanks for sharing @Wingingeverything, so pleased for you. I didn't even get a leaflet from the hospital. Everything I know I've found by talking on here or searching myself. It isn't talked about at all but I found opening up a few people have shared their experiences. Enjoy your cuddles :)

Congratulations on your beautiful boys @Cannyhandleit, I'm finding my own hope is difficult but hearing other's experiences does give me glimmers that it will happen for me (and us all on here) :)

@TickTockBaby, my bleeding has pretty much stopped now. Started with brown spotting last Monday, then brown clots to the miscarriage and now just light brown. So just over a week in all. If you're still getting the waves of cramps I'd ask for a scan for peace of mind. They tested my urine and it was still positive so they scanned and reassured me its over. The consultant gynecologist yesterday said we can start whenever we feel ready. We haven't discussed it properly but think we will not actively ttc for a while, but just have sex whenever we feel like it. I think it's very personal Flowers our loss came after 16 months ttc and like you, I'm not sure I can face how consuming it all can be. We are due to see a fertility clinic in May as we were on that route before the bfp, so will carry on with those appointments (if they let us)

Thank you all, it's really helped me talking too x

@Cannyhandleit nice to hear a success story! I’m hoping I have success soon, just a waiting game and patience is not a strong point of mine

@Helensss I know you're meant to wait for your period cus pregnancy is counted from first day of last period isn't it so helps with dates but to be honest my dates didn't match up, unless I lost it and then didn't bleed for a couple of weeks after!? I don't want my mind to go down that rabbit hole tho as I'm feeling better today!
We're gonna get straight back to trying. OH is really keen to try straight away.
Yeah the nurse said to me that a lot of people conceive soon after a loss and also it's quite common for people to conceive just before starting fertility treatment! I'm still waiting to hear back from fertility unit to see where we stand.

You've got to do what's right for you as a couple and if you're not ready to try again yet then don't. Got to look after ourselves mentally and emotionally as well as physically xx

CottonSock · 12/04/2019 12:50

I had two mc, my daughter, another 2 mc then my second daughter. It's horrible but my story is eventually happy

squirrelnutkins1 · 12/04/2019 12:57

Happy anniversary for the weekend hope you can do something a bit special, maybe book your hol xxx

Yeah def keep your appointment, even if they can't offer any help at the mo it'll be good to be seen and maybe get some advice and have your history on record for later down the road. Glad your appointment yesterday went ok and good that the shape and fibroids shouldn't hurt any future chances. Good news Smile

Hope work is ok and not too stressful for you. Good on your hubby for putting that person in their place! People never cease to amaze me at the personal/rude questions they ask! How long did you have off work? Last night was the first night in ages I actually slept through and really well so hopefully if you do look a little tired you'll start to get your sleep pattern back soon. But I'm sure you look just lovely ❤️ @VenusStarr

Thanks for the positive stories ladies, gives me a boost 😊

VenusStarr · 13/04/2019 09:27

Sorry to hear of your miscarriages @CottonSock, very pleased you have your daughters now

With regards to waiting my gynecologist said its fine to try again as soon as you feel ready she didn't even mention waiting for first period but I know for dating it probably makes more sense. But don't think it is essential or more risky if you don't wait. I'm just worried about getting obsessed and constantly checking @Helensss

Thank you @squirrelnutkins1 I managed two half days at work. Luckily my boss is being quite flexible and happy for me to come in later and leave early.

Any nice plans for the weekend? Xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 13/04/2019 14:54

Helensss · 06/08/2019 11:27

Hi @kittycat01 I have just gone through another miscarriage and have been referred. Appointment in September, I was just keen to know how you got on and what I’m likely to expect... hope you are ok xx

Oh my goodness you poor thing. So sorry you've been thru it again. How are you doing? How many weeks were you? Gutted 💔
I'm up and down. Having counselling and on ovulation stimulants as cycles aren't always regular. It's been 4 months and no sniff of a BFP yet ☹️ some people say you're more fertile after a mc. Don't think that's true in my case.
@Helensss

Helensss · 06/08/2019 18:57

I’m doing ok, I have a good network round me, naturally my best friend has the perfect little baby though! I conceived really quickly after mc (month 3) but was about the same as last time 5/6 weeks when I lost it. I lied at the epu and said it would be my 3rd so they’d refer me for tests. I can handle that it’s happen again but there is a chance it’ll just keep happening and that’s really hard to think about. I’m sure you’ll get your BFp soon! Praying for you 🙏 xxx

@Helensss I'm so sorry to hear this. I was referred but by the time I had my appointment I was pregnant again! They therefore didn't do any tests and have just been scanning me regularly and I'm 18 weeks now. I'm very nervous still even though I've got this far! All I would say is if you have the energy just keep on trying...but if you're referred and get an appointment soon you could wait for that first. I wish you all the luck in the world x

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/08/2019 20:04

@Helensss keep us posted 🙏🏻 thanks for the well wishes xx

kittycat01 · 06/08/2019 20:05

@Helensss sorry I read your message wrong...September is very soon so maybe wait for the appointment? Or you could keep trying and at least if you do get pregnant you have the comfort of knowing they will look after you and do lots of scans! xx

Jinglebin1 · 06/08/2019 20:28

I mc'd at 5 weeks and got pregnant a month later. My boy is nearly 5. Good luck x

VenusStarr · 07/08/2019 05:12

I'm so sorry to hear that @Helensss, I'm pleased your being seen by the recurrent miscarriage clinic. It does feel very cruel to have to have 3 before they investigate ❤️ let us know how you get on xx

I've been having some tests as under a fertility clinic, had an hsg (dye in tubes) test in June and got my bfp this week. Its very early days, I'm 4+2 by my dates (I know I ovulated early on cd10). Feeling very anxious. The epu have said they'll see me at about 6 weeks. Praying this is our rainbow 🌈 🙏

Helensss · 07/08/2019 08:37

@kittycat01 oh that’s a nice positive story to hear! I have faith you’ll be fine now you’ve got this far. Well it took me 4 weeks after my last mc to ovulate so I’m expecting the same again this time, I think I’ll still try this month and if we don’t this month then I should have just had a period before my appointment, it’s 24th September. @VenusStarr congratulations and have my fingers really crossed for you xx

Hi all,

Today I woke up at 5W+3 bleeding quite heavily and doctor confirmed in not pregnant (anymore).

It was my first pregnancy and I feel so empty and disappointed. I'm already fed up of people saying inappropriate things.

I feel so lonely and like no one else understands. Am wondering if things might become easier once the hormones level out.

I'm so sorry for everyone who is suffering. It's a very painful experience.

SLR1982 · 19/08/2019 16:25

Hi @escocesita
I'm in exactly the same situation. I was 5+2 on Friday and suddenly started bleeding. Visited the EPU on Saturday for HCG and US (where no sac was seen) and returned today for repeat HCG which fell from 212 to 40.
It's utterly devastating and I'm surrounded by friends with newborn babies who are trying to console me....but having never experienced what we are going through themselves, it's hard for them to relate. I've stopped answering calls and messages.
I'm so sorry to read you're going through this too.x

escocesita · 19/08/2019 16:31

Hi @SLR1982

I'm so sorry for you. I think taking some time out from friends is absolutely ok. You can go with your feelings on this. Maybe you need a bit of quiet before you are able to let others support you.

Friends and family are very well meaning, but people also say things that hurt. I think it's fine to protect yourself from that initially.

I'll be thinking of you and your loss and offering no well-meant advice other than to say I'm so very sorry.

SLR1982 · 19/08/2019 16:42

Thank you @escocesita and it's completely reciprocated - no well-meant advice coming from my direction either.
I appreciate my friends and family a lot - they're amazing and I'm very fortunate but you're right , a bit of time out to clear my head is important.
How are you feeling? The hormones are crazy! I used to cry at absolutely everything...but that seems to be wearing off and now it's tears of frustration.x

Helensss · 20/08/2019 19:01

I’m so sorry to hear what you are both going through, I have had 2 early losses and it is weirdly comforting knowing other people understand and I’m not alone! I’ve just ovulated after my 2nd loss so naturally hoping and scared, it isn’t easy but the pain does ease. I know what you mean about friends, my 2 closest are both pregnant with their 2nd and I’m struggling for my 1st after having a nightmare with my body after pill and now miscarriages. Not as easy for some as it is others eh Xxx
