How long did it take for a negative test after miscarriage?

I'm so frustrated right now and just want it to be over 😔. At my early reassurance scan it showed my baby had no heartbeat at 7 weeks. I went to the epu the following week who said there was no longer a foetal pole and just an irregular shaped sac. After consulting a doctor they said my best option was conservative management and sent me home. I have now been spotting and having a pink discharge for the past 3 weeks but no actual bleed. Epu told me to prepare for pain and bleeding with clots which I've not had. I would have been 10 weeks this week and took a test today and got a strong positive which I would've expected to at least have started to fade by this point.
I've called epu but they've insisted I must wait another two weeks for my body to miscarry the sac naturally, but this is causing me a great deal of distress. I am really trying to be patient but I feel until this is over I can't really move on.
Can anyone tell me how long it took from the start of miscarriage to get a negative pregnancy test? It's so strange that after longing for a BFP I'm now so desperate for a BFN.

Finally got my BFN today, so that's taken 7 weeks for me.

@Cantamendusername oh no! Well at least you have your negative test now. I don't think I could go through this again but we're still planning on TTC once this is all over. I'm terrified of this happening again but I'll try to keep positive.
Started bleeding heavily last night with mild cramps and lots of clots, it's continued today so hoping it's my body getting rid of what's left. Going to do a test in the morning and hope for a negative so I don't have to go for another blood test on Thursday. Nearly 5 weeks for me now

Hey @Cantamendusername I actually spoke to the EPU yesterday as I'm still bleeding heavily with lots of clots and they said if I'd rather leave it a few days I can rearrange for early next week.
I had a slightly fainter positive test yesterday morning but the bleeding is a bit lighter today so I'm thinking my body has probably got rid of most of what's left. Doing another test tomorrow...if I get a negative over the weekend the hospital will discharge me yay!!! (Fingers crossed!!)

Hooray! I've finally had my BFN!! My doctor said I don't need to wait for my next period so it's go go go! Fingers crossed we conceive soon and have a healthy pregnancy. Wishing you all luck!

I've been for another scan today as it's been over 3 weeks since medical management and still have positive tests. They said they can't see any of the sac remaining so got to wait another 2 weeks then test again. Really feel like this is never ending. She also told me I have a large cyst on my ovary so feeling more scared now than ever before 😢

@Louise3891 I have the same (cyst on ovary) and it took me almost 6 weeks to get a negative test. The waiting is so awful and the bleeding/spotting was horrible too. Just when I thought it had stopped it started again! Got there in the end though and we've been TTC for a week now. Fingers crossed although no idea when/if I'll ovulate as I've not waited for a period after my m/c (couldn't wait any longer!) hope you don't have to wait as long as I did x

Hi everyone, not sure how helpful this information will be. I had a scan on the 14/08 that showed no heartbeat. Baby measured 8 weeks 4 days, should of been 10 weeks so missed miscarriage. Went in the next afternoon for medical management. Very surprisingly within half an hour of medication, I completely passed all tissue on the toilet. The nurse was very nice and confirmed all intact and looked complete, she didn't think I'd bleed much after as all passed. Sent me home and told me to do a pregnancy test in 2 weeks. Not sure if two weeks from that date or two weeks once bleeding stopped, I'm going to do a test two weeks after the hospital admission as passed all tissue then. Bleeding completely stopped 19/08 had nothing since. Feel very sad and empty inside. Hoping for a negative test next week, and hoping I start ovulating asap

I'm in the process of miscarrying at 5.5 weeks. I had 3 positive tests last Monday. Started bleeding on Thursday, clots on Sunday. Negative pregnancy test today (Tuesday).

I am so sorry for you loss, I've had 4?miscarriages including one this week and it's absolutely devasting and unfair.

It can really vary but for me most happened a couple of days after the scan with no heartbeat and took about a week to miscarriage fully.

I had one very similar too you in January I was ten weeks but heart stopped at 7, it was very upsetting. Make sure you look after yourself, take lots of time to relax and try not too worry. Sending big hugs x

To OP and previous poster. The cyst on your ovary could well have been a corpus luteum from ovulation. This was found for me too in my most recent scan after my miscarriage. It was reassuring for me to know all was well again after the loss and my body had started the next cycle.

Hi all, has anyone got any positive news after their m/c’s? It’s been 2.5 months since my natural miscarriage was over and I’ve been trying to conceive ever since.
I’ve had 3 periods since, each one has been a day later, this month I had implantation bleeding a week before my period was due so I was so excited! Then my period didn’t arrive plus I developed other symptoms, then 3 days later af arrived. I’ve been absolutely devastated! It’s like the miscarriage all over again and I’m feeling so low, crying all the time, not wanting to leave the house and just feeling angry at my body :(

Been trying since February and had the one natural mc at 6.5 weeks (lasted 6 weeks from start of bleeding to stopping with a BFN which was hell)
Would love to hear some positive news from anyone
