No sure why I'm posting really - have name changed anyway.

I am 6+5, very early days. Have had niggling pains in my lower abdomen for the last couple of days, this afternoon I found a good smear of bright red blood when I went to the toilet. None on pants (yet), only when I wiped.

I called 111 who directed me to call my GP who directed me to call the EPU at the hospital. EPU didn't answer but I left a message and am waiting for them to get back to me. Don't really know what to do. If they don't call me back should I just carry on? If I get a lot more blood do I need to be seen or will it just happen on its own? I'm very scared and sad.

Thank you all so much.

So was very nervous today but thankfully because I had an appointment it was very quick and I was being scanned within 10mins of arriving. The checked the bigger twin first, measuring 8 weeks exactly which tallies with my dates - I thought 8+1. All well, strong heartbeat etc. I thought because she was taking so long over the first twin that the second twin had died but nope, she brought that one up next and although measuring smaller (7 weeks) all is fine with that one too, good heartbeat, sac measures the same as baby (she said it can be a sign of a problem if sac measuring differently to baby). She checked out around the two sacs and saw a good amount of fluid and said that my bleeding appears to be harmless implantation bleeding, no obvious signs of anything that will affect the twins at all.

It's pretty exciting! I'll have another scan in 2-3 weeks but basically all looks good!!

Congratulations OP! I have twins and had all the same thoughts as you when I first found out. I only wanted one baby, not two! I have never thought about twins or wanted them, not in family so was completely unprepared. But I too had a complete turn around when I got used to the idea and have not looked back since. They are so special. I love being a mum of twins. So pleased scan went well.
