Waiting on AF to return post EPRC

It has been 37 days since I had my second EPRC at 9 week, though bleeding started at 5+2so it has been a looooooong time since positive baby thoughts. I haven't been temping or doing OPK so no idea whether I ovulated, though have DTD at various time since. I had convinced myself I might be pg due to various symptoms (which I still have) so POAS this week and got a BFN. So looks like I need to keep waiting. Anyone want to sit it out with me?

Hi hootshoot. Sorry to hear of your loss. How are you doing? I have had 2 ERPC now and whilst they are far from pleasant I found the waiting around the worse bit. I had very little pain or bleeding after. I think it varies from person to person how long it take for AF to return. They say 4-6 weeks at hospital. I am now at 6 and a half weeks, so I consulted Doctor google who said go to docs after 8 weeks.

Woohoo Chosen!! Who thought you'd be celebrating AF. Hope it is over quickly and you can get back to DTD x

Hey guys,

Yeah trying to get on thanks. Went to see that new Tom hanks film yesterday which was good. Also had sex yesterday for the first time since the ERPC (waited 10 days) which I guess was a bit of a breakthrough although was a bit scared! Still not expecting AF for a few weeks thought but who knows! X

May I tentatively join you? erpc for mmc last wed, bleeding stopped over weekend, but cranked up again big time on Monday, so back into hospital with retained "products" (unforgivable phrase) which meant 48 hours iv antibiotics and threatened 2nd erpc. However, I got so cross at my treatment in hospital I stomped up and down 3 stories of stairs to get my lunch, and as a result miscarried the retained products myself. Ha. Sort of.

So now on the wait. Again, I thought bleeding had stopped but seems to have started again. I'm so terribly sorry that you all find yourselves here too. Best of luck.

Hi handsfull. So sorry to hear of your loss and what you gave been through. I think stop start bleeding is fairly common so I hope that's all it is this time and you are indeed joining the wait.

Chatty glad to hear you are making breakthroughs!

I am heading towards 7 weeks waiting. Fingers crossed that AF gets us all soon x

Hootshoot - been thinking of you today. I hope you are home, being looked after and not in too much pain x

How's everyone else doing? Are we all still waiting apart from chosenbyyou? I no longer have the AF is about to start feeling so not sure what that means? My nipples are still tender and I am beginning to think they have always been like that is seems to have been so long. To top it off I have done something to my bad and am in pain when I walk and DH is away with work tomorrow for 3 days - feeling quite sorry for myself!

hootshoot how did it go? I hope you aren't in too much pain. I tried to look on it as drawing a line under the whole terrible experience. DH and I have repeatedly told each other, well, we don't have to do that day again.

hollyben bad luck with the back, I hope you recover quickly. Can you put your feet up?

I'm going to work tomorrow, still covered by doctor's note, but I think a bit of normality will be good for me. I love love love my job and colleagues, so I'm looking forward to some good hugs and chats.

No such thing as feet up with a toddler handsfull. I think the back was made worse by playing monster frogs yesterday morning!!! DH was pretty good last night insisting I relax. The back is a better today which is just as well.

I hope everyone else is doing ok x

Oh HollyBen you poor sausage! May I suggest sleeping lions as a suitable game for tomorrow?

I had my first day back at work. Bit sad. It was simply that last time I was there I was pregnant and doodling baby names, and today I wasn't (but my suit is still tight). It's part of the new normal I really don't want to face.

Night all, hope you are doing ok. X

I've now had af so there is hope. It's a real relief as I feel like things are back on track. Going to think about ttc in December so I can have a month off being good (also to miss an august baby -although any healthy baby would be fine with me).

Yay Lighthouse! I'm delighted you can back on track. Enjoy your month off, and wishing you so much luck ttc next time. About 8 weeks between Erpc and af, is that right?

Glad to hear AF turned up Lighthousesea. Enjoy your month off and fingers crossed for your next BFP x

Sleeping lions is a great idea handsfull. Luckily DD was at nursery today. Back seems yo be on the mend but the walk home in the rain and bath time were not the easiest!! Hope your second day back at work was a bit easier x

Thanks!

Yes 8 weeks. Got there in the end. It wasn't heavy or painful. I do wonder whether the ERPC has got things back on track a bit. It felt like the first 'normal' period that I have had in a long time.

Good luck everyone else. Thinking if you lots and wishing you all a Bfp when the time is right.

X

Will be 8 weeks for me next week so fingers crossed. Otherwise I think I will make an appointment to see the gp. I am sure they will just say keep waiting, but at least I will feel like I am doing something other than waiting - siiiiiggggghhhhhh!!!

oh holly sorry to hear you are still waiting, that is a real pain...are you getting any af signs or bfp signs? you will have to let us know what the doctor says?

lighthouse that is good news, hope you get your bfp very soon.

my af was longer than normal, dragged out for 6 days when it is normally gone after 3 really. am ready to start 'trying' again now but dont do any temps or anything so will just see how it goes, feel much better now but still have a strange feeling of being 'let down' not by anyone but just by the whole situation of the mmc. hope to have some positive news aswell soon,

xx

chosen if you hear a loud cheer of delight that'll be me when AF turns up - I suspect I will be heard for many many miles such is my frustration on the wait!! No real signs of anything so suspect I will be off to the docs next week some time Sad I know what you mean about that let down feeling I have experienced that too. Along with the 'why me' (not that I would wish this on anyone else). Fingers crossed for some BFP new from you soon x

Oh Hollyben, boo! Our bodies have had so much shit to deal with, I'm guessing things will be a bit peculiar first time. We have decided to ignore the 'only try again after 1st period' thing, as condoms turned out to be adding to the horrible no man's land sad feeling. I don't know whether to look forward to af or not!

Report
HollyBen · 04/11/2013 22:02

Thanks handsfull. I am feeling a bit more hopeful now as I have had a bit more spotting. Fingers crossed!

I remember the whole condoms thing after my first mc. I don't know how anyone can be bothered. In fact we probably still gave some kicking around. We decided what would be would be this time round. Who knows you might get a BFP rather than AF?

Holly that is good news!

I'm supposed to be in my fertile window but not getting any ov signs so maybe it is later this month...will see!

Hands full don't blame you, we didn't bother with anything either, hope that you get a bfp as a result Hun xx

I am not whooping with joy yet Sad Still getting the odd spot of what might be AF but nothing much. Don't think I normally have thus, but I guess I might just not notice? Still obsessively checking when I go to the loo. 8 weeks today so if no real AF by the weekend I will go se the GP.

Good luck chosen. Fingers crossed for a BFP in a couple of weeks

hollyben I hope things crank up properly now, it's just shifted you to another form of limbo hasn't it?

chosen, good luck in your supposedly fertile window!

I am exhausted, totally uncharacteristically so. I am on pregnancare, which has iron in it. Do we think it's just a normal thing to experience two weeks afterwards?

Report
HollyBen · 07/11/2013 09:06

handsfull limbo seems to be my new party trick lol

I was completely exhausted for a few weeks after. I went to the gp and he said it was probably the combination of emotional stress and physical recovery. hopefully you will feel

better soon x

Hi,
Hope you ladies don't mind me joining!
I had a miscarriage in early August. After trying expectant management and medical management with not much success, I finally had an ERPC yesterday. It has been a long slog! I was advised to wait for one period before ttc, but was in too much of a daze then to ask why. I was told the same after medical management, but that was due to making it easier for the doctor to date the next pregnancy. I'm presuming the reason after ERPC is the same. Is anyone trying before the first AF, or are you all waiting??
