I have longed to write this message for literally years, and now i finally can. On New Year's Day i gave birth to the baby we never thought we'd have. Our daughter arrived two weeks early after some drama but we are all fine now and absolutely over the moon. She is called Rosalind and weighs a respectable 7lb3oz despite being early.
Over the last two and a half years I have drawn huge support from this message board after losing four pregnancies, one after another, with no real explanation. There were some very, very dark moments but I always found sympathy and emotional sustenance here. It really felt like a life line and I have made some precious friendships through these threads.
I want to thank everyone here for sharing their very personal experiences of the misery of miscarriage: nobody who uses this board need feel alone.
Over the years I built up more knowledge about the subject of recurrent miscarriage than anyone should need, and I enjoy sharing it. In the end i had various treatments which may or may not have made the difference. That's the thing about miscarriage - so little is really known about it, and many of us will never have firm answers.
I hope my story proves that there is hope, even if you never get a diagnosis. We were lucky enough to have a son before this nightmare started, so have always been more blessed than many on this board - but the endless pregnancy losses that dominated the last few years of our lives were a huge shock and become all-consuming at times.
I know i'll continue to visit this board often to see if there's any help I can give to others as they wait for their own miracles to happen; and am always happy to answer private mails about tests and treatments.
Thank you everyone, from the bottom of my heart. Sotough/ aka Kissmummy

I've been looking out for this announcement, huge huge congratulations to you and your family Sotough. There are tears here as well, you've been through a lot yet always found time to post words of reassurance to others on this thread (even my repetitive requests).

I hope to be able to post something similar one day.

Congratulations! Delighted for you. Under your recommendation I am now with Dr Yau Thum at the Lister (I was previously LouLouLaLa) and am now 9 weeks pregnant on clexane and aspirin, this is the furthest we have got so far so are cautiously optimistic.

Great start to 2011 for you!

NewImprovedJollster · 05/01/2011 11:37

sotough, have seen your posts a lot on here, though we've not really "spoken" as such.

Am in tears reading your news - that's just brilliant.

Like you I have a son, and have had 3MMCs since. Got the results of testing just before Christmas and all clear. Am 42 though, so suspect I've just left it too late to successfully have another child. BUT your story gives me hope to give it another shot.

Enjoy your new family unit - am sure you still can't quite believe it has all happened. And Rosalind is a gorgeous name; Rosanna is on my secret list for a future DD.

Gotta go, welling up again Blush. x

sotough Huge congratulations to you and your family on the arrival of Rosalind. I was over the moon to read your news as I have seen alot of your posts and have taken alot from the advice and positivity you have given others going through similar circumstances.

I like you had 4 mc although I am not lucky enough to have a child of my own yet. Your story gives me hope that one day it might happen for me. Thank you x

Wombat33 · 05/01/2011 16:57

Many many congratulations. I remember that you posted on my thread when I was miscarrying. Your post gives us a lot of hope. After a neonatal death and 2 MCs, hope I will be able to write a post like your in 9 weeks.

All the very best.

That's fabulous news

I'm sure we were on the same threads 2 and a half years ago.

You'll saviour every precious moment with your miracle girl, that's the only thing about mc that I felt. I still can't believe how lucky we are every time I look at 20mth old DS (also after 3 unexplained mc's)

Crying now!
