Bleeding on Evorel Conti - anyone else?

I’ve been on these patches for 8 months now and still bleeding every few weeks - it stops and I think it’s gone for good then comes back 4-6 weeks later. It’s not as heavy as a period but heavier than spotting. Has anyone else experienced this?

I bled for 30 days solid on it 6 years ago. Came off it.

Yes, I have the odd brown spotting and then a period every 4-6 weeks.

I did- moved from Evorel Sequi to Conti and had a week long period every 2 weeks, so literally one week on one week off. Then after 3 months I got a message from the doctor saying they wanted me to have oestrogen only patch and progesterone tablet and no bleeding since then but it’s only been one month. Goodness knows how long the bleeding would have continued if I hadn’t changed HRT.

This is interesting- did you tell the doctor? What did they say? I have an appointment next week but I’m worried in case it’s something bad.

Hi, I appreciate this is an old thread, but saw your comment and I'm currently in the same boat.
Did the swith to the patch and tablet work out for you? If so, please can you share dose, type, etc?
I'd really appreciate it. Thank you

I'm on evorel conti, 4 months approx in and light spotting every 11 to 14 days (3 daysish each time). Getting lighter each time so hoping settling in period. Got gp appointment this week to discuss. Hope can keep on to 6 months (July) and if changes needed do it over summer holidays...
I was going to discuss staying on evorel conti if settles or perhaps evorel patch and tablets (utrogeston?) If not. As will be 60 soon perhaps lower dose to 25 patch. We shall see!

@EmeraldJeanie thanks for your reply. Mine is much worse than that. Proper period like bleeds, lasting at least a week each. It's not getting any better, so clearly unsuitable for me.
I'm now thinking of asking to switch to Everol or Estradot 50 patch and continuous Utrogestan, so you've confirmed my thoughts.
Thank you

Let me know how you get on @LikeaHurricane . I'll report back as well after review at doctors. I made appointment as next review wasn't due til next February. Spotting/ light bleeding prompted me to book check up.

LikeaHurricane · 28/04/2026 07:52

@EmeraldJeanie I will do! I hope we both get sorted

@changedwoman123 , you absolutely must tell your GP, this could indicate that you don’t have enough progesterone to protect your uterus. You should be referred to an internal scan as I was to rule out any (unlikely) nasty issues. I have changed now to a new patch which is much smaller and have had a Mirena coil fitted which delivers the progesterone directly to where it’s needed. My issues may have been caused by my use of Mounjaro which effects the absorption of the progesterone.

Thanks @changedwoman123 I will do.

Well been to doctors. Really tiring day where not drunk much and she took my blood pressure- predictably high! So, will monitor at home at her request. Likely dehydration and stress but just in case. Been through this before! Usually completely normal at home when not dehydrated and relaxed.
So...not a great start!
She didn't really take 6 month adjustment on evorel conti seriously and I am month 4 and spotting every 11 to 14 days after 5 weeks clear.
We had a chat and I decided to bring forward my cutting hrt dose down. Dropping to 25 patch and micronised progesterone capsule ( which she says should cover up to 75 patch). Can't say exactly what put on as prescription needs to be ordered by pharmacy. Can collect tomorrow. Will change regime on patch change day which is Saturday. Review in 2 months.
If she is still concerned (or I am) will get womb checked out. However it is possible I'll think fuck it at that point and try stopping...
When said that she then started tslking about advantages of hrt...

EmeraldJeanie · 29/04/2026 17:40

A ps: I'm nearly 60 so thinking need to see how I am on reduced dose and possibly a trial stop...

LJRobinson1 · 30/04/2026 14:25

I have had crazy bleeding on and off for 4years now on hrt. Utrogestan 300mg 21 nights still didn't stop the random debilitating bleeds. Scan and tests all fine. So I gave up and came off my final low dose of hrt last week. So far having rubbish sleep but I'm hopeful.
