Where to put patch?

I’ve just collected my first prescription of evorel sequi.

Nurse had said to pop them on my stomach, below and to the side of belly button. Leaflet inside box says thigh or bum.

just wondering on where most prefer to have them, and if there’s a knack to it that avoids having them fall off etc.

Mine don’t fall off. Anywhere below the waist and thighs. I don’t like them on flabby bits of tum so tend to go bum / thigh / side. Get some eye make up remover so you can get rid of residual glue when you take them off. Hope they provide relief quickly!

Willyoushutthefrontdoor · 17/06/2025 17:26

My sis in law had hers on her arm 🤣🤣
If you think of a square shape from belly button to waist to thigh to public bone, i stick mine right in the middle, if that makes sense. And I alternate sides each application.
Works fine for me... though i sometimes catch some fine stomach hairs on removal!
Edited to add Mine stick very well. No fall offs even after showers, baths and swimming

SpacedOutOut · 17/06/2025 17:28

I put mine on my bum so it’s inside my underwear.

NannyR · 17/06/2025 17:37

I put mine on my bum under my knickers, I've found it sticks better there. If I put it on my thigh or hip and it rubs directly against my jeans they tend to fall off before they need to be replaced.

I do thigh or bum and not fallen off. One time they gave me a diff brand to Evorel and they fell off constantly. These are good tho, the advice is to shower and stick it on.

Chewbecca · 18/06/2025 18:03

Top of thigh / bum, alternating. Never had one fall off.
I use the old patch to remove the residue. You have to drag it over about 20x and think it isn't working for the first 15, then off it comes.

Toooldtocare25 · 18/06/2025 18:08

Was told not above waist due to breast cancer increased risk. I do below hip alternate left and right side.

Beamur · 18/06/2025 18:10

Below the waist. I usually go for either left or right of belly button, under knickers.

Madsciencecovid2020 · 18/06/2025 18:20

I use these patches and they are fantastic! I put mine on a butt cheek and have never had an issue.

Anonyone1 · 18/06/2025 18:35

Another one using the magic patches! Mine were falling off on my bum. I put mine just above my bikini line and move along sideways with each new patch. They’ve been life changing for me - I was back to my old self within days of starting them.

Anonyone1 · 18/06/2025 18:35

Oh and another tip is to warm them in your hand before sticking them on.

Doggymummar · 18/06/2025 18:39

I use about six before one sticks they're bloomin useless. Mine say below the waist so I tend to use my hip or upper thigh. I think I gave a bad batch as they are all dated Aug 25 and don't stick. Pharmacist wouldn't replace them just said to reorder. The bum ones drop off in bed and if I put them on my back or tummy they do the same.

fetchacloth · 18/06/2025 18:51

I put mine on the thigh and alternate the thighs, straight after a shower. They stick better on clean skin and rarely fall off.
I use baby oil to remove the remaining adhesive.

The patches shouldn't be used above waist level to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

PhotoFirePoet · 18/06/2025 19:32

I put mine on my thighs, different areas each few times and alternate legs each changeover. Remember to press down on patch with warm palm a few seconds after applying, which makes them stick well.

Also, you don’t need special remover; the day after removal, as soon as you get out of the shower, rub the sticky residue with your towel and sorted. 😊

Bowies · 18/06/2025 19:54

Top thigh/bottom or hips.

Islandgirl68 · 18/06/2025 19:56

@aperolspritzbasicbitch right butt cheek on a Saturday, left butt cheek on a Tuesday. Works for me.

I bought some tape from the chemist to stick them on .

Chinsupmeloves · 18/06/2025 20:16

Have just been to arrange menopause treatment. I decided on the pill and gel at night time as thought the patch could be a bit less effective, ie mivibg, coming off etc.

Chinsupmeloves · 18/06/2025 20:17

Also the nurse said they're meant to be worn around the stomach area?

autumnboys · 18/06/2025 20:21

I’ve got Evorel patches and I stick mine on my outer thigh, switching each time. I had one come off but generally I find them good. I warm my leg and hand with a hairdryer before application. Hope they help you.

cherrycherrypickin · 18/06/2025 20:23

Alternate bum cheeks, and they never come off. I tried thighs and hips but they were definitely lifting more

YouLookNiceJackie · 19/06/2025 00:20

Mine goes on my bum, alternate cheeks. As a side note, I change mine on a Friday and a Monday so if I go away for a weekend, I can pop one on before I leave on the Friday and not have to think about it until the Monday. I do keep a spare in my wash bag just in case.

It took me a few months of adjusting the dose to get it right and I swapped progestogen tablets for the coil as they weren't agreeing with me.

ForFunGoose · 19/06/2025 00:24

I do alternate bum cheeks.
I change the patch after a shower and use the hairdryer to heat the patch slightly, it helps activate the adhesive.

Good luck

PurpleLostPrincess · 19/06/2025 00:27

Also on my bum so it’s under my knickers. And warm it to the skin for 30 seconds or so. I also get those adhesive removal wipes to get the leftover sticky stuff off.

Have had issues getting the 75mg patches, apparently there’s a UK wide supply shortage!?

GarlicMile · 19/06/2025 00:39

Mine go on the top outside of the thigh, hold on I'll find out what that bone's called ... it's a greater trochanter! I picked this bit because it's smooth and not hairy. Now thinking I should be putting them on my belly - mine's squishy and foldy, though, so thought the patches more likely to fall off.

I swipe the area with alcohol before sticking the patch on, it makes a world of difference. Hope yours make you feel better, OP.
