Just that really. Interested to know when it’s most common to start.

49 but in hindsight, I should have started HRT at 45/46.

55 - I think that was possibly late, after hysterectomy at 40.

Felt ok for a year but now, three years in wouldn't know I was on it. Feel as
crap as before I started it.

Progesterone intolerant and I know I need to increase my Progesterone but...

9 years later and still hate it!

At 43. And it literally saved me. I was suicidal, depressed, anxious, OCD, insomniac, panic attacky crying mess. I was totally lost.

however, my doctor/pharmacy cannot get my brand and I’ve had to switch and all the feelings I had before are back. For me HRT was a life saver. I hope to god they get it back in stock as I am really struggling with life without it.

Sorry to jump on the post for my own gain, I’m 44, had tried it previously and didn’t think it made a huge amount of difference, that was last year. Now I feel pretty constantly anxious, wake up heart going like the clappers, clenched jaw all the time and I REALLY struggle to concentrate. Sick of feeling vacant and not present in my own life. Think I will go back on it to try as there is no real reason behind why i should feel so anxious now

If this helps you can buy mouthguards to help with the jaw clenching.

I’m about to start at 44

Ladymuck2022 · 04/05/2025 12:18

42 and on it for 9 months, I’d had a coil at the time which I couldn’t see working but I’ve not stuck with it and did run it by someone medical as I stopped.

They gave me blissett and was able to beg against presseries in getting internal gel applicator instead but I’m so afraid of that now.

Suddenly it was all the GP surgery would talk about - tried to get help with a uti all I was lomasted with was peri, peri, peri to get me out of their consulting room at speed maybe if I’d been taken seriously and treated quickly for a UTI I wouldn’t be in the mess I am today.

As long as my periods come I remain conflicted.
