Did you experience early menopause?
I thought I'd read that this was likely to correlate.
I'm curious as mine started at 10 years old and I'm now 43 with no peri symptoms & pretty sure I ovulate every month. Wondering when I can expect it to start. I think my mum went through it at around 50. Did you through it at a similar age to your mum. Maybe this is a better indicator?

*missed not kissed. I think I need reading glasses now too 😂

2024GarlicCloves · 12/01/2024 01:44

Same as my mum. Menarche at 16-ish, hot flushes at 50, final period at 62.
That's a 12-year bastarding menopause, and not one of those that women just "sail through" for either of us.

HoHoHoliday · 12/01/2024 02:29

Started periods when just turning 11. Perimenopause symptoms from late 30s (37/38 ish) still going now in mid 40s. And pretty much constant pain for the 30 years between from endometriosis. My body has badly failed me!

UnderstairsAdventure · 12/01/2024 03:22

I started at 10. Still having erratic periods at 50.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 12/01/2024 04:29

started at 12 and still getting periods at 54. I think it is the earlier you start the later you start perimenopause.

aintnospringchicken · 12/01/2024 04:42

Started when I was 13 and finished when I was 48

Racingadmin · 12/01/2024 04:44

Started at 15. , finished at 44

Short fertility window but hellish with endo and ovarian cysts . Was very fortunate to be in the situation to have dc s in mid twenties

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 12/01/2024 04:53

Research I believe suggests those who start early go longer. Those who start late tend to end younger.
However use of contraceptives that stop ovulalation means that some women will continue to have menses longer.

Rowgtfc72 · 12/01/2024 04:53

Started at 11. I'm 52 now. Still regularish periods but do have some symptoms of peri.

sashh · 12/01/2024 04:56

Started at 11.

Periods stopped at 53/4 - I can't remember exactly.

Frances0911 · 12/01/2024 05:06

I started at 13, had my last period when I was 47.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 12/01/2024 05:11

Periods started when I was 12. I had regular periods until I was 56, then they became erratic. I've just turned 57, haven't had a period now for a few months but also haven't had any meno symptoms. So not sure what's going on!

NoraZ · 12/01/2024 05:50

I started at 11. I'm not symptom free but still going strong with regular periods at 50.

BestDIL · 22/07/2024 15:38

Don't think there is a correlation, I was 15 when I started my periods and had the last at 41 so very short window. Mum and sister both started earlier than me and both went through menopause in early 50's.

sashh · 23/07/2024 04:06

Started at 11, I'm not sure how old I was when they stopped, early 50s I think.

AppleCream · 23/07/2024 04:09

My mum started at 11 and stopped at 54. I started at 13 and haven't stopped yet (at age 50).

Topseyt123 · 23/07/2024 04:11

Started when I had just turned 11, finished when I had just turned 57.

Kittylickingplate · 23/07/2024 04:11

No, started at 9, 51 and still regular. Had a chemical pregnancy last year!

Same here! Welcome to the 12-Year Menopause Club, a very select cohort 😂
Same as my mum, but sister was earlier at both ends and had a 5-year menopause.

Iwantmybed · 23/07/2024 04:52

Late starter at 15, almost 16 and early Peri confirmed at 43. My Mum was in her 50s.

haypole · 25/07/2024 21:55

I am curious what happens to me. My periods started when I was 17.5. I am 48 now but I don't really have any perimenopause symptoms yet.

wendywoopywoo222 · 25/07/2024 22:15

Had my first period at 8 and my last one at 47.
