Thank you for almost offering advice, @JinglingSpringbells. You seem to have thought that patches falling off my skin means I'm still on HRT. It doesn't.

RosyCheekedBird · 25/07/2023 11:49

I'm 46 and still on the Pill...now wondering how I'll know if I need HRT! Anyone else?

JinglingSpringbells · 25/07/2023 12:56

Well, @GarlicGrace if I've understood now, your age is not an issue for HRT.

You can start or resume at any age (I've been told of women in their 80s who started it.)

There is also no cut off point for stopping as long as women are informed of the risks. It's their choice.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 25/07/2023 12:57

49 and I really should have gone around 41 and been more aware.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 25/07/2023 13:12

48 but should have gone at 46

Dollyparton3 · 25/07/2023 13:21

46 but I started trying to access it via my GP at 42 as everything about me had gone downhill. Eventually I had to go private to get it

GarlicGrace · 25/07/2023 13:22

Oh, that's encouraging, @JinglingSpringbells ! Thank you. I shall start a renewed assault on the GP.

SamR36 · 25/07/2023 17:42

49, although i asked at 45, 46, 47, 48 and refused hrt everytime, one very young male gp made a statement that my symptoms were of a manic depressive and offered me antidepressants, i declined.
I was 100% peri meno but just suffered in silence. I thank Davina for bringing it all to the surface😂

GarlicGrace · 25/07/2023 17:56

gp made a statement that my symptoms were of a manic depressive Shock

Good grief. Had he never met any women before??!?

SamR36 · 25/07/2023 19:28

@GarlicGrace lol, i dont think so, i told him every symptom, my erratic periods, it was first time he met me and i'd only been sat with him 5 minutes. Tbf they try to push antidepressants on you no matter what these days 🙄

Rolloisthebestpony · 09/08/2023 15:03

Doctor has agreed for me to trial HRT for 3 months to see if it helps.

I expected some push back due to my age (41) but doctor was very sensible and seemed knowledgeable about menopause.

I was 56. Still having periods, and probably had some symptoms for about 8 or 9 months before I started on HRT.
