Thinking of coming off HRT.

Looking for something to help:

Joint pains
Mood swings
Anxiety

So thinking of trying:
Collagen
Magnesium
Star flower oil

Any personal recommendations would be fabulous thanks 😊

Oh might keep on with the ovestin though as it's been brilliant.

I'm in the same boat re: coming off HRT. I'm taking Health and Her supplements, Bach menopause tincture and cutting out refined sugar.

I don't know how I will feel but sick of period cramps on patches and mood swings.

I'm post menopause.

Runaround50 · 01/05/2023 12:57

Why are you considering coming off HRTbt the way?

SpringTimeCartwheels · 01/05/2023 13:14

I have put on weight and it's making me miserable as had loads to lose anyway.

Also fed up of having 2 good weeks them feeling like hell on the progesterone.

I'm anxious all the time.
Never was before.

Just thought I'd give it a rest and see how I feel.

But I'd like to give my body the best chance of coping with coming off.

Also had horrendous period cramps last couple of months. So I'd like to see if my real cycle is still regular or not.

Oh just saw your thread @Runaround50

Shall we check in here together as we come off?

Just ripped my patch off earlier too 🤣

Yes let's check in together.

I feel a bit apprehensive, as my bladder is the first to suffer with no systemic oestrogen. BUT I like you, want to give my body a rest and see where things are up to.

Here we go then! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Cutting out refined sugar works amazingly well for me. All joint pains gone, sleeping like a log and mood much more happy and on an even keel. The sad thing is I manage to do it for several weeks but always end up back on the wine and chocolate. The lure of sugar for me is terrible 😞 I’m back on cutting it out tomorrow after a bank holiday splurge - I can already feel it in my hands.

This is exactly why I came off HDT. I've now lost the weight.

Reducing caffeine helps reduce anxiety and improves sleep, but I find it hard.

Post menopausal here!

Red wine gives me nights sweats possibly due to the sulphites so have switched to rose (summer drink) and feel so much better.

I didn't want to take HRat so I was recommend red clover and soy isoflavones. Still get the odd menopausal day but not as much.

Runaround50 · 01/05/2023 15:21

Quitting the refined sugar will be tough! Especially as I've had quite a sugar craving these past few weeks. Feels like I'm going cold turkey today! 🙈🙈😩

Ohfgsjon · 01/05/2023 15:29

Sage complex. Took about 3 months for it to have any effect on me and I nearly gave up but once it kicked in, it worked wonders.

What symptoms did it help with?

Selaura. Not cheap but very effective. I am also on HRT but notice when I don’t take the Selaura. It’s brilliant for focus.

Ditch the alcohol - if you still drink - helps with sleep, temperatures, mood, weight everything

Runaround50 · 01/05/2023 19:25

@SpringTimeCartwheels I'm feeling weird too!!

Just lost my temper with DH.
I think it's probably best to wean off HRT!

Oh no! Well I've just hammered DS for leaving trainers where I can trip over them!

Yep, I think weaning off is best too.
What's that plan? 🙈

Runaround50 · 01/05/2023 19:50

P.s I'm staying on Ovestin and vagifem too. Otherwise we could end up shrivelled like a prune AND moody!!
