If you had post menopausal bleeding did it feel like a period?

Not had a proper period in 2 years , had a couple of spots last year with Covid jabs ( actually on the days of the jabs) but now I'm spotting again . I fully plan to get checked out asap but if anyone else had this did the bleeding feel like a period with PMS or just spotting? And did it turn out to be sinister?

TIA

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor
hellooo! Saw the consultant Monday, quick internal examination and referral for ultrasound. Appointment came through for today, couldn’t believe it, fabulous! Ultrasound was difficult to see womb lining apparently (despite the uncomfortably full bladder - which I was hilariously congratulated on 😁) so also had the internal scan. I agree with everything being so much more dignified these days, and everyone was so nice and reassuring. They have said possibly two weeks til results sent to consultant but I can call after seven days. Fingers crossed 🤞 and for you!

Oh I'm glad you were seen and it was dignified!

I got a letter saying I've been referred to gynea with a view to removal due to the size. No bloods back yet but I might ring tomorrow and ask about how long it's all likely to be.

I have to say since I was prodded and poked I haven't been comfortable at all ,it's like it made it flare up and I feel like I have period pain all the time so I'll be glad to get it out .

update

I've seen the gynae and all is well, fluid filled cyst with no signs of cancer and my bloods were clear. Phew.

Will be checked every 3 months for a year to monitor it and see what the pain levels are like and see if it grows/ settles down at all. Wouldn't be keyhole surgery so would only be done if pain gets really bad as they'd have to removed the ovary as well.

I've been given some HRT cream which she thinks might make me more comfortable generally. Happy to give it a go.

Just jumping on this thread. Went 11 months without a period and had a very light spot for two days. Then have gone 10 months and have been bleeding now for 4.5weeks. First 3 weeks pretty light. 4th week very heavy. And back light again the last few days. I'm off to the gynae urgent clinic tomorrow and now feeling a bit nervous. I know I have a couple of polyps so I'm guessing they'll want to remove them.

Good luck, glad you're getting it checked out.
