help- can't get my head around when to change patches

Right i am being thick. I was on on the gel, then it disappeared- i was happy on it. I was put on lenzetto and it is not working well enough. I asked the dr if i could try patches .
So I change them twice a week, so one patch is on for three days and the next for 4? How does that work then?( being thick)

I renew my patch on Monday and Thursday mornings. Like you, I questioned it at first, but I was overthinking it!

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 30/05/2022 18:18

I've been doing this for years now, I did wonder at the beginning but it doesn't seem to make the slightest bit of difference.

BigButtons · 30/05/2022 19:12

Thank you. I over think everything. OK. To make it easier for my brain I will start this thursday and change again on monday. crappy lenzetto will have to do until then. God I hope these work or I'm doomed. Evorel 100 patches. I wish I didn't seem to need so much oestrogen , or maybe I'm just not great at absorbing it.

I do Saturday morning and Tuesday evening that works out at more or less every 3.5 days.

EarringsandLipstick · 30/05/2022 19:30

OP, you can mark the two days on the pack to make it easier to remember - I do Monday & Thursday.

So yes, 3 days & 4 days

I like that idea!

another good idea! I have such brain fog atm- the worst it's ever been. I feel really vacant.

Good luck with the patches Op
Totally agree re the lenzetto. To me, it's like the 'smart price ' of HRT! Correct dosing is nigh on impossible!

It's so rubbish and the sometimes the nozzle gives big circle and then the next spray almost nothing, so i have no idea how much i am actually getting. Apparently even that has run out round here now!😧

God if even lenzetto has run out, we are doomed!

What a sorry state of affairs 😬

‘’So, I change them twice a week, so one patch is on for three days and the next for 4?’’

Hi OP. The patches will have enough hormones in them to last 4 days. The pharma companies will have decided that instead of asking people to change them every 4 days, which would be hard to keep track of, it’s best to just change twice a week and stick to 2 set days you will easily remember. This means every second patch is probably being discarded when it still has a day’s worth of hormones in it, but that is a sacrifice considered worth making to keep things simple.

The whole systems gone to hell for me anyway, as my patches keep falling off before they are due to be changed…errghh!!

Iknowthis1 · 31/05/2022 00:18

I do 3.5 days.

PeasInOurTime · 31/05/2022 00:20

Showing my age I fear but I do Blue Peter days Blush as that’s easy for me to remember bizarrely!

TinaWeymouthsBass · 31/05/2022 10:36

3.5 days i do Monday evening and Friday morning.

80sMum · 31/05/2022 10:42

I change my patch every Sunday and Thursday evening, at bedtime.
I put my Utrogestan capsules into a weekly organiser and keep them on my bedside table, so I don't forget to take them at bedtime. I've drawn an asterisk in permanent pen on the Sunday and Thursday compartments, to remind me to change the patch on those days.

bellabride · 31/05/2022 18:02

I change mine on a Monday evening and a Friday morning, so every 3.5 days, as advised by Newson GP when I was first prescribed them.

BigButtons · 02/06/2022 17:31

nervously put one on my bum this morning- it hasn't fallen off yet. I hope to god these work because I am so not myself since being on lenzetto and that's on 6 sprays a day.😩😥

Monday am and Thursday night. 3.5 days each.

GallstoneGlory · 02/06/2022 18:10

The patches last for four days. Since I have to pay privately I set a reminder on my phone and change my patch every 4th day. Makes the pack last longer.

I think I will do this- although I don’t pay I am aware that there is precious little HRT available lso want to make it last as long as I can.

I’ve literally just started on patches and the first thing I did was set a reminder on my phone for every Tues and Friday! 😂

BigButtons · 03/06/2022 08:54

I am guessing the patches will take a while to level up my oestrogen due to the weeks of slow decline on Lenzetto?
still sweating away last night🥵

Oh it's horrible. I do sympathise. I found my symptoms improved at 2 weeks on my patches. I know that sounds like an awful long time. I really hope the patches work for you. Mine have been amazing 2 months in and feel so much better. Look after yourself.

Thank you. It’s been so awful for such a long time that 2 weeks more isn’t too bad.
I do feel a slight uptick in my mood already. I had got to the point where I had lost the desire to do anything at all and was crushingly tired and lethargic as well as having anxiety and palpitations.
I am hoping some testosterone will help boost things up too. I might insist on trying some anyway after my blood tests have been done🙂

I change mine every Saturday night and Weds morning.

I found the patches were much slower to take effect than the other forms I have tried but they got there in the end- it was a couple of months though before the hot flushes disappeared completely.

If you have trouble with the glue remains then rub with some sort of oil ( doesn't matter what - I use the avocado I bought for my hair) and leave for a couple of hours. It'll then come off very easily.
