Why are my boobs so big!!!

crosbystillsandmash · 22/05/2022 16:31

I'm not really partial to looking at myself naked in the mirror but after feeling like my boobs felt heavier/bigger than normal I had a good look at them.
Jesus!! They're huge (for me!) I'm petite and until my 50s hovered around 8 1/2 st.
I've put on a couple of pounds recently and I'm wondering now if that's all on my knockers!
I don't like them, they look weird on me as I'm very small framed Confused
Is this a menopause thing? Will it pass?!

When you find out, let me know will you?

I'm bloody sick of mine.

IglesiasPiggl · 22/05/2022 16:37

I have found the same recently (I am late 40s). For me, it feels as if they are bigger because they have become less densely packed, so bigger but softer if that makes sense. I have just gone out to buy bigger bras!

MayorDusty · 22/05/2022 16:39

I went up a cup size and dropped down six inch 😁

Amrapaali · 22/05/2022 16:43

Mine were big to start with. Now they are so ginormous. They look like a shelf under my chin. So matronly and ages me instantly 😢

Perimenopause here

AuntieMarys · 22/05/2022 16:43

I'm 62 so way past menopause and mine are getting bigger! 36 G currently. Horrible.

MayorDusty · 22/05/2022 16:49

I'm used to mine now but I've started wearing a vest with a support shelf plus very sensible bras.
it felt like Pendulus happened overnight.
silver lining though you can't half do a brilliant hoik.

Oblomov22 · 22/05/2022 16:51

Mine are the same. I must lose weight. So uncomfortable. Far too big.

StarCourt · 22/05/2022 16:58

Yep 38H here and menopausal

crosbystillsandmash · 22/05/2022 17:09

Matronly - yes!!!
They're not soft, rock hard, I honestly look like I've had a boob job 😳
I'm just under 9 st and honestly think the extra weight is all boob!!!

I was hoping someone would say it's temporary, your replies are not helping but thank you 😂

Same here, hate it. Does HRT help?

Mysisterlivesinbicester · 22/05/2022 17:10

WTF? Mine are still so small that they are more or less invisible. There has been no menopause-related change at all. Sad

Mysisterlivesinbicester · 22/05/2022 17:11

I am, basically, jealous. I am still small and scrawny. HRT has made no difference, either.

SpindleInTheWind · 22/05/2022 17:18

I'm going to do myself a research project later, where I dig out old photos, stare at my own tits, and correlate them against when I started HRT / went into surgical menopause / blah di blah.

Will report back with full scientific findings.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/05/2022 17:20

Thank God l had a boob reduction at 52. I was a 34k

Now I’m a 38 D. I wear it big round the band as it’s sI much more comfy, and they don’t need much support.

Branster · 22/05/2022 17:30

No idea but I've always wondered if this is what happened to Trinny Woodall.

I used to watch her skincare you tube videos about 3 years ago and she was considerably bigger in the chest department than she used to be. And somehow I don't think she'd have had a boob job.

Some sort of hormonal thing?

I take breaks from the minipill and every single time I go back, my boobs get larger and feel heavier, fuller and harder.
I don't like the feeling and am quite pleased when they settle back.
I have a modest bust but it suits my frame, took a long time to regain my pre pregnancy post long breastfeeding size and shape to the extent that I could go back to going braless with certain tops.
I'd absolutely hate to go larger because of menopause, as it does give that more matronly look which simply doesn't work for me, very out of proportion.

lackofvision · 22/05/2022 17:36

Yes mine have gone up 2 sizes gradually in the last 10 years and I'm small framed

BellaTelly · 22/05/2022 18:24

I’m 40 and wondering if peri

I have put on weight a bit generally but boobs are much bigger, used to be pretty flat chested, now at least a 32DD

Mysisterlivesinbicester · 22/05/2022 21:06

Still just wondering ... how? Why? Why not me? Mine are about a 28AA and have been since I was about 12. I hoped peri/menopause might at least increase them to a 28A, but no bloody luck. There is no such thing as a bra that fits me because I'm also a funny shape. All peri/menopause has done for me is make me hot and cross.

MirandaWest · 22/05/2022 21:08

I’m peri menopausal and mine have got bigger. Although may be to do with having put on weight. Starting HRT seemed to make them increase a bit more too I think.

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/05/2022 21:08

My boobs are much bigger post menopause. I'm in my late 60s now and still have big boobs. I had HRT after a hysterectomy and removal of ovaries.

Mysisterlivesinbicester · 22/05/2022 21:14

Seriously... why would some people's boobs become bigger and other women's (mine) not change at all? What would explain that? I haven't put any weight on in 30 years - but, again, why would that be? Is it genetics? I would actually like to know. I'd particularly like to know if there's anything I can do to make my boobs bigger <remembers Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret and "I must, I must, increase my bust"...>

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 22/05/2022 21:14

Urgh, same! I hate the ‘matronly’ look it gives me. I lost a stone and a half last summer and they did go down …a little.

Unfortunately I got diagnosed with breast cancer last autumn and the six months of chemo and steroids have led to me putting all the weight back on. I look absolutely awful ☹️☹️ hoping that once I’ve had surgery (hopefully a lumpectomy) I can focus on getting back into shape and will lose weight on the boobs again.

KangarooKenny · 22/05/2022 21:17

I always seem to remember older women as having big boobs when I was little, and they always seemed to wear those bras that made them point to either side of a room ! Was it Playtex that lifted and separated ?

TheGlitterati · 22/05/2022 21:18

My mum went from a DD to a G. If this happens to me I am heaving a reduction!

You don't get perky ones.
Careful what you wish for, unless you want the Gladys Emmanuel look cos you get the hips and tummy too.
