Why are my boobs so big!!!

I'm not really partial to looking at myself naked in the mirror but after feeling like my boobs felt heavier/bigger than normal I had a good look at them.
Jesus!! They're huge (for me!) I'm petite and until my 50s hovered around 8 1/2 st.
I've put on a couple of pounds recently and I'm wondering now if that's all on my knockers!
I don't like them, they look weird on me as I'm very small framed Confused
Is this a menopause thing? Will it pass?!

I am really small, used to be size 4/6, and now I'm size 8/10. I used to be 6/7 stone, and now I'm around 8 stone.
I think my boobs are bigger compared to younger days, but it doesn't look out of place, at all. If you have huge boobs but really skinny otherwise, then you should be happy. Not panicking.

SpudsIluv · 22/05/2022 21:47

Mine are continuing to grow as I age (44), gone from a B/C to a generous DD, I have put probably a stone on in the last few years though, now a size 12. X

Purpleavocado · 22/05/2022 21:49

Me too, size 12, 34dd since starting HRT. Dh loves it!

SpudsIluv · 22/05/2022 21:51

My boyfriend loves it, me not so much! 🤨🙄😲 I find wired bras unbelievably uncomfortable and I've taken to wearing sports crop top type things. X

They're not huge, just big for me and very tender & heavy which makes them uncomfortable.
Yes, maybe I should embrace it, I'm basically very slim with big boobs but with everything else that comes with the menopause, it just feels like another thing robbing me of feeling like 'me'

I've never worn bras as I was so small, just little cropped tops or vests.
I've upgraded to a couple of sports bras as them seem comfier than a regular bra!

Trust me, many people are feeling like "not me" as you age. I am younger than you, I think, but the change in body since late 30s is significant.
But if you are naturally slim and never needed to wear a bra, your big is tiny. And wearing a bra is actually good for the support, and good for maintaining shape, either it's small or big. You said you never needed bra, you can't have huge breast just because you are slightly fatter. Grin

crosbystillsandmash · 22/05/2022 23:15

@grapehyacinthisactuallyblue yes obviously I realise a lot of people don't feel like themselves as they age 🙄
I maybe overreacting but I specifically chose the menopause board because I was looking for kindness & understanding.

I'm feeling shitty today. I have insomnia, awful brain fog, aching joints, emotions that are like a bloody rollercoaster and so yes, when I caught sight of my massive (for me) knockers, I just wanted to cry.
No, they are not humongous but it's just another piece of the menopause puzzle to deal with and I just wanted to hear if others had experienced the same, in the hope that it might be a temporary thing.

I've struggled to accept my new 'ageing' body! 🤨 I've got a holiday in 8 weeks so going to loose some weight and see if that makes any difference. X

Thirdsummerofourdiscontent · 23/05/2022 03:19

Thank God it’s not just me. Peri menopause here and I woke up freaking out that the last time mine felt like this I was pregnant.

Nandocushion · 23/05/2022 03:57

Mine aren't bigger (yet) but can I just ask if anyone else has aching boobs? I have never had them from periods etc so this is new to me and it's awful. Just had a mammogram come back clear or else I'd probably be worried. 52 and no serious signs of menopause yet so I'm curious.

Thirdsummerofourdiscontent · 23/05/2022 04:10

Yes @Nandocushion So tender they woke me up last night. I keep having to tell DH to calm down as I am just wandering around the house clutching my chest.

Nandocushion · 23/05/2022 05:26

God yes I keep prodding them in case something has appeared overnight. I'm sure this is part of the reason they're so sore! Thanks for the reassurance.

I’ve lost a significant amount of weight in the last year through dedicated dieting and exercise . My already large breasts also increased by two cup sizes. I had to spend a fortune on new bras. Perimenopause is the only explanation I have.

GetThatHelmetOn · 23/05/2022 06:12

Oh yes, and bloody hate it, they look ridiculous. I had a similar time at 2 years after I gave birth when my bubs went from a 34B to a 36G but then receded, after a few months, to 36C.

Now in my perimenopause they keep getting bigger and bigger. I’m disappointed to hear this may not be temporary!

KangarooKenny · 23/05/2022 06:27

For those with sore boobs I can recommend Efamol EPO from Boots. I used to buy cheap EPO and felt no benefit, but Efamol really makes a difference for me.

lljkk · 23/05/2022 06:34

Down a cup size here, apparently.
