Sudden bleeding?!

Sorry maybe TMI for some …..
I’ve been on the progesterone only pill & hrt for a few years now. No bleeding during that time. A year ago stated to get a yellow non smelly discharge. Had tests for EVERYTHING!! Noting was found.
About 2 weeks ago started bleeding- just a small amount, not bright red. . Stopped bleeding , discharge continued and then a few days ago saw lots of bright red blood on my pad.!! Also the night before this was very itchy.
Anyone have any idea what’s going on?!
TIA 😊

Oh and meant to add no recent covid vaccine or covid itself.

There have been lots of reports of 'post menopausal' or just menopausal women experience emergence of bleeding after vaccination..
Are you vaccinated?

dollymuchymuchness · 06/05/2022 20:08

You need a two week referral for investigations. What you describe is not normal. I had some bleeding and a yellowish discharge. I had a tumour on my right ovary. This was eight years ago and I'm fine now. Push for investigations.

Yamyam13 · 06/05/2022 20:09

Ooos sorry you must have typed that at the same time as me. So ignore my response x

dollymuchymuchness · 06/05/2022 20:10

Post menopausal bleeding should always be investigated on a two week referral.

Starinthesky12 · 06/05/2022 20:15

Thank you 😊
I’m not sure it is post menopausal though. As I’ve hardly bled for years due to being on the mini pill. I continued that and started hrt a few years ago. No idea if I’ve passed the menopause or when my last proper period was 😩

I had exactly this a year ago. My gp didn’t think it was anything to worry about but referred me under the 2 week window anyway. I was seen in 10 days, examined and the consultant saw a polyp. He said he thought that was the cause and removed it there and then. He said there would be a little bleeding from where the polyp had been removed. If that was the cause the bleeding would stop after the polyp removal site had healed in which case all is good. If I was still bleeding further tests would be necessary. Luckily after 3 days it all stopped so hopefully it’s something like that op.

@Ahwig thanks , pleased to hear you were ok!

You need to see the dr and get it checked out.

Starinthesky12 · 06/05/2022 21:02

It could be a polyp? I had these and bled between periods until it was removed

Riverlee · 06/05/2022 21:16

i second (or third, fourth …) getting it checked out.

Riverlee · 06/05/2022 21:19

I had bleeding after having not had a period for a while. Got referred to gynaecologist and they said it could be a symptom of womb cancer. Don’t mean to scare you, but wanted to emphasise how important it is to get it checked out.

Starinthesky12 · 06/05/2022 21:28

@Riverlee thank you. There was me thinking it was normal. Hope it wasn’t that serious for you and you’re ok now.

My stomach now feels a little like it did when I had an actual period. What ever is going on

Starinthesky12 · 06/05/2022 22:38

Just been reading about my symptoms- quite scared now 😳

LunaFortuna · 06/05/2022 22:50

Definitely get checked out by the GP - it’s very likely not serious and easily treated but getting it checked out is always the right thing to do. At least then you’ll have the reassurance that it’s nothing bad, and on the off chance that it is then the earlier you deal with it the better.

dollymuchymuchness · 06/05/2022 22:51

it’s normal to feel scared. The fear will make sure you see your GP. It might be nothing much, most things are. 💐

Starinthesky12 · 06/05/2022 23:00

@LunaFortuna thanks 😊

Yes, fine. Hope your bleeding is something simple also.

Starinthesky12 · 07/05/2022 12:54

Hardly any bleeding today but just the slightest hint of what I remember to be period pains…!

Make sure you see the GP @Starinthesky12 and do let us know how it goes.

Starinthesky12 · 09/05/2022 20:35

@dollymuchymuchness thank you. I will try to get an appointment. The bleeding has stopped now though.
