First day of period and can't sleep due to pounding heart although measured it and it's 75bpm. Feels like it's going to explode! Happening more and more now. I had a heart scan which showed minor stuff but nothing that would cause this. I lie here trying to sleep with this feeling and it's horrible

I'm awake. I'm just worrying about stuff that seems benign in daylight.

MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:07

Oh dear, night time does make things worse doesn't it?

I’m awake. I had a work do tonight and had wine. Now my head is racing with work stuff and I’m soooo thirsty but can’t be arsed to get up to drink.
I’m pretty much done with meno now but have had too many sleepless nights because of it.
The Pzizz app has been brilliant. In text I’m going to try it now

MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:10

Is that hormonal do you think? My sleep has definitely been affected. I hate the pounding heart thing though.

OP posts:
lightlypoached · 11/12/2018 03:10

In fact , not in text.

I may be back .......,.!

MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:11

Yes I've had 3 bottles of beer and I wonder it's that's the culprit even though it's a small amount

OP posts:
MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:12

What's Pzizz

OP posts:
MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:15

How old are you all out of interest? I'm 43

OP posts:
lightlypoached · 11/12/2018 03:20

Pzizz is an app for your phone that tells you through going to sleep (or having a nap ). It’s based on NLP techniques and gets you into good sleep hygiene routines. I use it when I wake up as it helps to get back to sleep. Unless I come on mn 😆

I’m 53.

My guts are loudly gurgling now. I mean loudly !

MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:21

I can hear them! 😝

MummaPI · 11/12/2018 03:23

Given my previous episodes I find I'll drift off around 5 ish. Its crap.

morethanaword · 11/12/2018 03:29

I'm awake, 30 year old here with a three year old. Just split with husband. But I've always struggled with sleep. I usually find I sleep round about 5/6am.

donajimena · 11/12/2018 03:33

Gosh that's tough more are you ok?

morethanaword · 11/12/2018 03:36

@donajimena I'm surviving but barely. I've had to take a few days off work as DS has become a bit more of a handful but just to also recharge my batteries. I think I'm slowly getting used to an almost empty bed.

donajimena · 11/12/2018 03:44

Bless you. I promise you that you will soon relish having it to yourself. Buy yourself some new bedding if funds allow. Something your stbx won't have seen. Its a huge psychological boost.

caringcarer · 11/12/2018 03:53

I know it is crap after break up. Look on bright side though, you get all wardrobe and chest of drawers to yourself.

Merrychristmasyoufilthyanimals · 11/12/2018 04:10

Patchworksack · 11/12/2018 04:17

HI! I'm 44 and this is happening more and more. I wake up at about 3ish and then can't get back to sleep, my head is buzzing. I'm knackered.

Stopyourhavering64 · 11/12/2018 04:19

I'm awake, due to chronic pain-being on high dose steroids doesn't help either as they keep me awake ...
I was on HRT until had to stop it this spring as the steroids I'm on for my autoimmune illness increased my BP and GP not happy to represcribe it ...hot flushes came back with avengeance unfortunately
Had been on HRT for 10 yrs following hysterectomy aged 44 due to fibroids and endometriosis...HRT was brilliant for me , so gutted I can't take it anymore ( was on tiny dose, but it kept those blasted hot flushes at Bay)....I'm trying a herbal remedy which does seem to give some relief from the symptoms...Viridian female complex tablets
The office at work is unbearably hot at the moment so I'm ending up sitting with window open and fan on...did some Christmas shopping at weekend and it was awful as I was a sweaty mess...thank god for online shopping!

Butterflybelly · 11/12/2018 04:52

48 here. Don’t seem to be able to sleep at all these days. My mind is constantly on the go. My legs want to move all the time. I’m always hot. I sleep with the windows open and rarely put the heating on. I would love a full nights sleep.

donajimena · 11/12/2018 04:55

I've given up trying now. I'm going to stay up. mummapi have you gone to sleep? Yeah cheers for bailing on me Wink
