First day of period and can't sleep due to pounding heart although measured it and it's 75bpm. Feels like it's going to explode! Happening more and more now. I had a heart scan which showed minor stuff but nothing that would cause this. I lie here trying to sleep with this feeling and it's horrible

@lightlypoached

My guts are loudly gurgling now. I mean loudly

oh I get this just as I'm trying to go to sleep! DH said last night that it sounds like I've got a cat in my stomach, yowling away...Confused

I'm 50 and peri, I also get the rapid heartbeat that wakes me up - its usually after I've been at the wine, so I should really just stop drinking... not gonna happen

I woke again at 3:30 by stayed in bed trying to relax doing breathing exercise. I've just learned to accept it as the more frustrated I get with it, the worse I feel in the morning. Need to get through the next two weeks of work and the hopefully I can relax more and sleep a bit better. So hard to get on with a busy day when you get so little sleep. I need to leave for work in one hour.

Ugh I get restless legs just as I start off to sleep, drives me insance. Started when I was pregnant and never went. Taking high dosage magnesium helps. And getting up and walking around.

To say I'm short tempered today is an understatement. Grin lets hope we all catch the zzz's tonight

This might help you. I know it's the Mail but the facts are right. Rules for HRT and high BP are treat the high BP (with drugs if need be) and once under control, allow HRT. At 54 you are only 2 years older than the age of normal meno so you could stay on it for years and years. sounds as if your GP doesn't understand HRT.
