Hi everyone I've moved us onto this one from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park one to give us more room to jiffle around in and try to attract some more interest!!

I know that Claireandrich and Bozza are interested, what about Ditsymum, PamT and Nettie - you were interested last time any good days for you??

Anyone else interested??

And any ides for a 'where'? Or shall we go with the Sculpture Park again??

Hi guys - I am afraid I will probably not be able to make it tomorrow. I have had really bad hayfever, much worse than ever before. Trouble is the constant eye itchiness has led to my eye becoming infected. I can't see through one at eye at the moment and it is very very painful all the time. If it is still the same tomorrow I won't be able to drive still So sorry about the late notice. If by any chance it is better I will be there.

However, if I am not there on time please go on - it'll mean I can't get . Have a good time!

WedgiesMum · 22/06/2003 20:21

Poor old you CnR - hope you're better soon. Are you still coming Bozza??

Bozza · 22/06/2003 21:46

Sorry about that Claireandrich.

Yeah Wedgiesmum - I'll still come if thats OK. What do you look like? I've got an orange (sort of Moscow mule colour) Fiesta and two year old DS.

WedgiesMum · 22/06/2003 22:14

Great, it'll be nice to see you! Glad you can come - I've already told the kids we are coming, and they're desparate for the picnic!!

Got a white escort estate and DS aged 4 and DD aged 2, and you won't miss me as I'm fairly tall....oh and I'll probably be saying 'BECAUSE I SAID SO...' in a very exasperated voice (I feel that it's all I say at the moment.....)

Lets hope it dries out a bit by then! Looks like it will. See you later.

WedgiesMum · 23/06/2003 08:53

Wellies are always a popular fashion accessory in this house anyway!!

See you later.

Have a great time. I definitely won't be making it. Been up all night in agony ; going to doctors later for some drops and hopefully painkillers too.

Not happy as as well as missing this meet and Tumble Tots, I got Harry Potter on Saturday and can't read it!!!

WedgiesMum · 23/06/2003 20:06

CnR - how did it go at the Doctors? - sorry you're feeling so lousy.

It was very windy at the sculpture park but we enjoyed ourselves again (DS surpassed himself with the figure of the seated naked man - 'Mummy why has that man got a big fat widgie' at top volume! ). Picnic was good, but we did miss you and DD. We'll have to sort another date/meet out soon - and try somewhere else so that YSP don't feel they are being singled out for torture!!!

Nice to meet you and your lovely DS Bozza - my two fell asleep on the journey home - always a good sign! Hope to see you again soon.

Take care both,

Wedgie xx

Glad to hear you had a great time. I'd love another meetup. We do have the one in Derby soon too don't we? Must get something round here too, maybe in the holidays.

Well, today has been eventful. I went to the doctors this morning. He thought there was something actually in my eye but my eye was so swollen he couldn't deal with it. He sent me to eye casulty. Luckily MIL was able to come over from Doncaster to take me and watch DD.Spent all afternoon at casulty. I had som many checks it's unbelieveable. It appears i have an ulcer on my right cornea. So, I have had to have 4 different eye scrapes (ouch ). I also have eye drops which I have to apply hourly for the next seven days. Doctor says I can reduce the frequency at night times luckily though to about every 4 hours. It'll be like when DD was tiny all over again. I go back on Wednesday to see how it is getting on. I can't see properly as my eye is sore and swollen so I can't drive, which means I can't work either - probably for this week at the very least. So I am stuck at home. I can't even enjoy the weather as the bright lights make my eye pour with water and it is very painful

So, I think my afternoon wasn't as exciting as yours, and I am sure DD would have preferred to have been playing with your and Bozza's little ones, rather than running riot at eye casulty!

Bozza · 23/06/2003 22:00

Ouch Claireandrich that sounds really nasty. Hope you start to get an improvement soon. I enjoyed the Sculpture Park too - although I only live down the road I'd never been into that part of the park.

As for the man with "the big fat widgie" - I could tell one of them was going to point it out but of course it had to be the clear tones of the four year old rather than one of the two year olds!

Wedgiesmum - glad we tired them out. My DS went to bed when we got home and I had to wake him up at 5 (to ensure a reasonable bedtime) and he was extremely grumpy about it...

WedgiesMum · 25/06/2003 10:03

CnR!! Oh poor you it sounds horrible in the extreme. Are the drops working, are you feeling better???

Hope that it all clears up soon - but let us know your progress.

Take care!

Wedgie xx

Hi guys!

Well, a week on and my eye is starting to respond to the hourly eye drops. Whilst in the house it isn't too bad - it just feels a bit sore and as if someone if pushing onto my right eye all the time. I still can't read thoughas my vision doesn't focus for very long at a time, so still haven't read any more of Harry Potter I really struggle outside as the light makes my eye pour and weep constantly, and it really hurts. Still can't drive so not been to work last week. I am back to the hospital tomorrow afternoon (Monday) to see how much it has improved, and to find out when I may be able to drive again. I'd love for Mollie to be able to go to nursery, not so keen on me being back at work! Hopefully DH will set off early to take her to Doncaster before going to work (in Sheffield) at least one of her two nursery days this week if I can't go. MIL will then pick her up and bring her home for me. Poor MIL has been back and forth between Doncaster and Sheffield all last week chauferring me to hospital, looks like some of this week too. Bless her!

Well, hope you are well and hope to get a meet organised soon. Thaks for the sympathies!
