Ok.
WE really need to get this sorted if we are to hold a party this year.
As it seems i've somehow managed to volunteer to organise it we figuered we'd just go back to the Hat & Tun as last year's do was so succesfull.

We have a preliminary date of the 28th November.

Last year everyone paid £20 towards venue hire and food ( which was delicious) so if everyone is agree'd we will just do that agin this year.

so if everyone that is interested in coming could PLEASE list your names on this thread so that we know this will be a viable event.

otherwise i need to phone pizza hut and book a booth

Oh and i don't know how you make threads sticky but if someone does....could they?

will try to come just need to check a couple of things

bratnav · 21/09/2009 18:46

Would love to come, DS will be 3 months and I would need to stay over, what do people think, would you?

lowrib · 21/09/2009 19:07

Hiya bratnav. Drawing on my immense experience (only 1 DS, 9 months) I would say it totally depends on your child, and you.

My personal experience is that my DS needs me to settle as he feeds to sleep. My friend's DD however just sleeps when you put her down in the cot (it's not natural I tell you ) You won't know which type you've got till you meet your child.

We booked tickets to a gig while I as pregnant, when my DS was 5 months old. I though it would be a doddle by then. Actually it was much harder in practical terms than Id imagined, and was in fact the first time we'd left him for a few hours. Also it only really worked because my sister lived right next to the venue.

What I'm trying to say is it might be easy, but it might well be much harder than you think. I still haven't managed a night away, and it would be a big deal even now (DS is 9 months).

Could you come to London for the weekend with your DP maybe? You could make a weekend of it, go out in London with your DP & DS on Saturday afternoon, go to the party leaving DP and DS in hotel, back after the party and then out again on Sunday together (hangover allowing of course)? I'm a Londoner I could suggest lots of nice things to do.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/09/2009 19:07

Brat, with ds1 i left him from when he was 3 weeks old. however with ds2 i have never left him for longer than 10 minutes and he is 2 yrs old now...

Mamazon · 21/09/2009 19:09

OK, I'd love to come - I've missed the last couple and am going to be brave even though I don't know anyone because I can't get on MN from work at the moment so never get to catch up anymore(sob!). Please say you'll talk to me?

Have added myself to the list below - will send paypal through as soon as I have confirmed with dh and he has sufficiently recovered from his mirth to agree to evening childcare and hangover respite on the Sunday morning....

Now i am really nervous!!!!

You all seem to know eachother...I shall be the one hiding in the corner with a copy of take a break or some such crappy magazine.

TheOne · 22/09/2009 00:23

Just wondering what date the £20 needs to be paid by Mamazon? I am really hoping to be able to come this year, but Mum being my baby sitter and newly widowed, I need to keep my ear to the ground and make sure the wind is blowing in the right direction with Mum iykwim?

Are we making badges with our names on?!

Will pay when DP is home as he is the keeper of the paypal.

Annie, if you decide to drive you could always park at mine and we could get the train from Epsom together? I am very close to station. If not, let's meet at Waterloo anyway?

Kbear · 22/09/2009 12:31

Don't be nervous, it will surely be a vipers nest lovely, friendly atmosphere! I am gobby and will talk to everyone so you won't have to worry about being left in the corner reading your take a break!

HeadFairy · 22/09/2009 16:58

I'd love to come, but I have a couple of problems.. well one really. Work. They have a habit of changing my shifts willy nilly... however, I will take the chance.

My second problem is that I'm a terrible coward.. but as I'm duffed up and won't be drinking, I will be driving in from Redhill in Surrey and am happy to give lifts to anyone who'd like one - except if I have to drive to Aberdeen or Penzance to pick you up

Fruitbeard · 22/09/2009 17:08

Feck, I've just sent a payment but not put who I am on it...

Mamazon, a payment in the last 5 minutes from someone with the initials CL and the email address lovecat, is me!
