Looing forward to it - have drawn eyes on my eyelids so littlefish won't know I'm dozing off till I snore.

Will have to leave 10 ish though - picking my little sis up from the station.

Littlefish · 25/09/2009 19:17

No chance of you falling asleep. I will be regaling (sp!) you all with fascinating stories of block work, pad stones, "elly bars", filter beds, soakaways, and many, many other building gems.

Furball · 26/09/2009 07:30

Mornin! - Thanks for another fab night girls.

As usual the food was great and the laughs even greater

The photos didn't send us to sleep Littlfish! Your house is amazing - You'll have to have the meet up there one time when it's finished in 2025

Morning Furball

Lovely to see you all last night. I'm still feeling full this morning .

I wonder where Wolluff got to last night - I hope she's ok.

Sassy - did you manage to get to your sister in time?

Samson - glad things are so much improved at your school - I'll have to try and get mine whipped into shape before they get to Yr 6! Let me know if you ever want to come and visit!

samsonthecat · 26/09/2009 09:39

Morning Had a lovely time last night, the food was fantastic again.
Littlefish I might just want a visit to your school sometime, you are very welcome to come and see mine in its newly transformed glory
Looking forward to the next meet up.

NorbertDentressangle · 26/09/2009 10:36

It was another great night wasn't it!

DP was highly entertained by your "I was shat on!" story Littlefish. I was laughing about it on the way home so told him when I got in (complete with Welsh accent) and although he doesn't "get" MN he loves hearing the funny stories like that.

Looking forward to the next one

NorbertDentressangle · 26/09/2009 10:42

ooh, just remembered...Litlefish, could you post that Flapjack recipe when you have time please.

Furball · 26/09/2009 14:49

Here's my All bran cake - tis nice honest!

Albran Fruit Loaf

Very easy to do and best eaten sliced with butter.

1 mug SR flour
1 mug caster sugar
1 mug Albran
1 mug mixed dried fruit
1 mug milk

method

Place all ingredients except the flour in a bowl and stir. Leave for at least 1 hour to soak. Add flour, mix and pour into a lined 2lb loaf tin. Cook for about an hour, or until firm to the touch at 180 degrees.

Easy peasy

furball is this the band you mentioned last night? (the one I'd never heard of)

NorbertDentressangle · 26/09/2009 16:28

oh and re:Allbran Fruit Loaf -I'm not entirely convinced but will give it a go sometime I promise. I just need to remember to buy some AllBran

Furball · 26/09/2009 18:24

Thats them Norbert - I've only ever seen their name in Jackie, never heard their music!

All bran loaf is nice - just one thing - I copied and pasted the recipe so it not my mispelling of all bran

Thought it was them -I had never heard of them until you mentioned them then came on here the next day and theres a whole thread about them.

Littlefish · 27/09/2009 19:21

Littlefish's delicious flapjacks!

8oz butter
20z syrup
1 tblsp water
2 pinch bicarbonate of soda
4 oz plain flour
8 oz oats
8 oz sugar
pinch of salt

Grease and line a 10 x 8 tin
Pre-heat oven to 150 degrees (lower by 20 degrees for a fan oven.

Melt the butter, syrup, water and bicarb together in the microwave or on the hob.
Mix together the oats, sugar, flour and salt.
Add the dry mix to the butter/syrup/water/bicarb mix.
Add dried fruit, nuts, choc chips, crystallised ginger etc. and mix together

Cook for approximately 35 mins.
Cook in the tin for a bit and then remove before completely cold.
Cut into squares.

Freezes really well.

Good combinations:

Dates and crystallised ginger
Dates and chocolate chips
Cranberries and chocolate chips
Raisins and dried cherries
Date and dried apricots

NorbertDentressangle · 27/09/2009 20:19

ooh, thanks for that Littlefish -love the sound of some of those combinations.

Further to my ealier post - your (well, not yours as such but YKWIM) "I was shat on!" has become a bit of catchphrase here now. It creases us up every time the other one says it

Littlefish · 27/09/2009 22:11

It gets repeated a lot here as well Norbert. I just have to remember not to say it in front of a very good friend of mine, who's Welsh!

Itsthawooluff · 30/09/2009 22:08

It's official - I'm now an old lady because I forgot I was going out on Friday night.

Just pass me the zimmer catalogue..........

NorbertDentressangle · 30/09/2009 22:12

Its called "having a senior moment" wooluffy.

You were missed,we did worry but guessed that you'd forgotten.

Littlefish · 01/10/2009 19:11

Oh what a shame woolfy. Please come next time. You were definitely missed!
