Right I'm going to bite the bullet here and ask (nervously) if anyone in the Croydon area fancys meeting up one evening in May for a bite to eat and a few bevvies??

I was thinking of perhaps one evening during the week, and going to Anna's (Thai resturant) - in South Croydon which is next to Leon House.

If anyone dislikes Thai food we can change venue.

I Should make it now I think looking forward to putting names to faces, thanks for the map Metrobaby. EmmaTMG sorry about the trauma but sounds as though all will be well. I do love Thai food....

Metrobaby · 07/05/2003 12:17

If it helps SoupDragon, you're more than welcome to join us a bit later - after all I'm sure by the time everyones arrived, had a bit of a chat, decided what to order, etc etc it will be a while until the food arrives !!

EmmaTMG - keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know what happens.

SB34 is virtually begging me to go If I'm late, she will be too. DH tells me that he'll either be home early or late - very helpful!

EmmaTMG · 07/05/2003 12:38

I think our DH's are one and the same Soupy as mine says things like that too. Annoying isn't it.

Thanks for the posts about the baby girls, I'll keep you all informed. Quite happy really as the scan lady (can't spell the proper word so won't even try) wasn't really concerned at all and asked us to come back just as a precaution because the kidneys were the smallest measurement it could be before they do further tests. He or she needed a wee too so the kidneys were probably larger because of that, or so we were told.
Thanks again and enjoy your evening, have a fizzy-pop for me!

Sorry, got to back out. Had sh*y day, everything making me cry, now husband late home. Pity because I bet you'd all do me a power of good. Look forward to seeing you another time when I'm fit for human company. Have a good evening, everyone.

ANGELMOTHER · 08/05/2003 10:18

Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeeee don't hate me, am so sorry. I now notice how numbers dwindled at the last minute. My dd wasn't well and have had to keep her out of pre-school today (Outing to Godstone farm too). It's only a bad cold but was feeling a mixture of laziness and shyness at the last minute. Please forgive me..

Metrobaby · 08/05/2003 14:04

Don't worry AngelMother - there was all the more wine for me

Nice meeting up yesterday - perhaps the next meetup can be at Jodee's suggested venue, and hopefully we'll have better luck with the turn out.

Nice to know there is a good number of Croydon mumsnetters around though !!!

Mo2 · 08/05/2003 14:40

sorry - confusing you...
No I couldn't make the meet up this week - I meant 'what was going on' because it sounded like you'd all got there and realised you knew each other!

Metrobaby · 08/05/2003 15:11

sb34, do you remember the name of the soft play place you were telling me about in Caterham on the Hill ?

LadyP · 08/05/2003 20:24

Just got home. Have been out all day - how exciting.

Lovely meeting you, sb34 and of course, as always Metrobaby .

Hopefully, will get to meet more of you in the future.

P.S - I love Jardin de Provence.

Metrobaby - wasn't the soft play area called 'Little Soldiers' or something similar....

ANGELMOTHER · 08/05/2003 22:20

So scared no-one would talk to me after I chickened out, so firstly thank-you, thought I might have to change my name and skulk around corners.
Dd seems a little better but coughed herself sick today in Boots, it's just a really bad cough, I think I have it under control, but it may mean another day off school.
East Surrey meet up soon yes, enjoy the NY trip Mo2.....

SB34 - clearly you simply emptied the contents of your living room into the back room and shut the door - that's what I do when having people round I'm just impressed that I visited you and left only with the bag (and children) I arrived with.

I thought Mo2 was suggesting we have a meet up in NY...? Well, I can hope.

And I resisted! Don't think I didn't see you trying to stuff them in my bag when I wasn't looking.
