Metrobaby · 07/04/2003 12:17

Right I'm going to bite the bullet here and ask (nervously) if anyone in the Croydon area fancys meeting up one evening in May for a bite to eat and a few bevvies??

I was thinking of perhaps one evening during the week, and going to Anna's (Thai resturant) - in South Croydon which is next to Leon House.

If anyone dislikes Thai food we can change venue.

Sorry haven't replied but just don't seem to get online as much as I used to........still going hopefully but dh could change that (He's having meeting Tues or Weds even). Will know for sure Mon but pleeeeeease include me for now.
Yes Mo2 would love a lift.......as still haven't passed test....

EmmaTMG · 04/05/2003 08:37

Hi Girls, I've been away for a week and there has been alot to catch up on on here......397 new messages to be precise.

I'm going to have to move to the maybe list for our meet up. It's more likely that I will be there but I won't know for sure until Tuesday so I'll let you know then.
Sorry if I've messed any plans up.

ANGELMOTHER · 06/05/2003 09:19

Ok am definitely on but now getting a touch of shyness, it's easy when we're all anonymous online. I think I have your contact details somewhere from previous e-mail Mo2 will call later....

Mo2 · 06/05/2003 10:31

oh no... I'm REALLY sorry folks, but I'm going to have to duck out of tomorrow. Against my wishes I'm afraid, but DH is now going to be in London til late with work and our Au Pair has a night off since we're out tonight & Thurs too...

So sorry, honest, I HATE it when people cancel last minute. Angelmother - can anyone else offer you a lift? (I haven't heard from you, so wasn't sure if you were still planning to go?)

LadyP · 06/05/2003 11:52

Don't back out Angelmother - I can speak for me and Metrobaby that we are not awful people....and I'm sure the others are human too

You can always make some excuse and leave early if you really hate us

SoupDragon · 06/05/2003 11:55

Still not 100% sure if I'm going to make it or not. If I can go, I'm happy to drive though, SB34. I'm sure it's my turn.

LadyP · 06/05/2003 12:01

Forgot to add, sorry you won't be able to make it, Mo2.

grump, grump - hate missing out.... can we have another east surrey one soon????

Metrobaby · 06/05/2003 12:29

Just to confirm everyone that a table has indeed been booked for tomorrow at 8pm under the name of "MUMSNET" - to save lots of complicated descriptions of each other that I know personally I'll prob forget in my nerves.

WARNING: There are actually 2 Annas Thai resturants in Croydon. We are going to the one in South Croydon on the high street (NOT the one in the Whitgift Centre).

mo2 sorry you can't make it. Maybe luckier next time around ?? Here's hoping that all the maybe's will manage to come tomorrow. AngelMother don't be shy - i'm just as nervous too !

Sorry girls, can make it after all.
Note to self.......must remember social plans and arrange suitable babysitting.......DOH!

LadyP · 06/05/2003 13:06

EmmaTMG

Is it Can or Can't make it? Was a little confused by your note.

Tx

jodee · 06/05/2003 13:09

I wasn't down to make this one, unfortunately, but PLEASE pencil me in for another get together! (I can recommend a great little French restuarant in South Croydon, REALLY CHEAP!)

Have a great time, though!

EmmaTMG · 06/05/2003 13:11

Double DOH!
That was meant to be can't. Really should read the preview properly should I.

Can't believe I'm going to miss out, I arranged this night with DH as soon as the thread got started as he's off work but then forgot and he's got some bigmoney overtime. Still at least I'll have fun spending it.....maybe a new outfit for the next meeting.

LadyP · 06/05/2003 14:17

Jodee, it's not the French restaurant with the wooden flooring, etc. I think it's called Brasserie something or other, or something or other Brasserie.

If so, very nice.

ANGELMOTHER · 06/05/2003 18:04

OK I am going to be a big girl and brave my shyness......don't worry about the lift Mo2, but it would have been nice to meet-up. We will have an East- Surrey one soon maybe one off the list of restaurants you gave, BTW food at the Gurkha House was great, pity about service.

As for Annas in Croydon, can someone in the know please confirm the exact address and nearest Station South / East. Shops are always a good landmark for me

ANGELMOTHER · 06/05/2003 18:07

BTW forgot to ask EmmaTMG how did scan go ......

jodee · 06/05/2003 20:33

LadyP, I've just twigged that you used to be Monnie - hello! Yes, I think it's that one, called Little Bay, near the mini roundabout on Croham Rd.

EmmaTMG · 06/05/2003 20:45

Thanks for asking Angel, it was fine. The baby had slightly enlarged kidneys so they want scan again at 34 weeks to check there isn't a problem, but she said even if it does show anything 'wrong' it's a simple course of antibiotics that sorts it out so I'm not too worried.
Amazing though, I DIDN'T find out what we're having even though I really want to know, I thought a surprise would be nice and covered my eyes at the crucial moment!

Thanks again for asking, Have you had yours yet or it coming up soon, sorry but my pregnant head doesn't allow me to store information beyond my childrens names!

SoupDragon · 06/05/2003 21:02

Don't look at your 34 week scan then EmmaTMG. I did that with DS2 and it was verrrrry obvious! (he had the kidney thing too. Precautionary antibiotics and an ultrasound scan at 6 weeks old or so. Absolutely fine)

Metrobaby · 07/05/2003 09:27

AngelMother - not sure of the exact address but it is on the high street itself, next to Leon House which is the large office tower. There is a light fittings shop on the street next to it. (annas is on the corner of the high street with Masons Ave). Here is a map www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=532414&y=165027&z=1&sv=532250,165250&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

I still don't know 100% if I'm coming or not!

LadyP · 07/05/2003 10:15

Yes, jodee, you are right. Disappeared for a bit and then came back as LadyP.

Maybe we will get to meet up eventually.

EmmaTMG sorry to hear about baby, but it sounds like all will be well.

Looking forward to meeting some of you tonight.
