Hi I know you wont believe me but my DP has come down with some sickness & diarrohea bug. I went to work this morning thinking he was being a baby but came home at lunchtime to one very poorly person. After disinfecting the house I have been keeping away but he is just not well enough for me to leave him in charge even though the children are in bed.

Sorry Furball - I really did mean to come after our conversations

hope you had a good night

Furball · 28/02/2009 07:30

you cheeky bint littlefish! Me mean? don't know where you get that idea from

Great night and great food as usual.

Yes MM you were missed but glad you posted (at last) hope dh recovers without passing it around.

Wooluffy we really thought you'd rush in at the final moment, sorry you weren't there, it was awful, I had to eat your pudding! [licky lips] so thanks for the calories

Morning all.

Lovely to see you all last night, and great to meet you MaplePecan.

Wooluffy - ignore the mean one! However, she's right, we did miss you. Hope you can come next time.

sassy · 28/02/2009 09:15

Hello all, nice time last night though am pretty tired this morning thanks to midnight home and dd2 in bed with me all night stealing all the pillow. grr.

Sorry to hear about dp MM, we had the noro a few weeks ago and it was hellish. hope he is on the mend soon.
And nice to meet you, maplepecan - shall you come again?

NorbertDentressangle · 28/02/2009 10:09

Another bleary eyed one here! Was it a later night than usual or something as I didn't get into bed until gone midnight either?

Sorry you couldn't make it wooluffy and MM.

Lovely evening though (as they always are) and great to meet you MaplePecan. Don't forget to look out for future meetups, especially if you're going to be a frequent name-changer as we won't be able to stalk you let you know about them via CAT

Fishy -I was lying in bed thinking about your house this morning. It has such massive potential and will be absolutely gorgeous. All those rooms, all that space.....you lucky thing. Just don't forget to invite us all to the housewarming party

Itsthawooluff · 01/03/2009 17:42

The meeting finally ended and DH returned..........at 10pm. . So no nice moroccan lamb, instead sad microwave meal and heaps of ironing.

Hey ho - I really am going to get to meet CMOT who lives about 3 miles away one day.

Glad you had a good evening all - see you at next one (will get substtute sitters on standby just incase!)

Furball · 01/03/2009 18:26

hi wooluffy! glad to hear from you. Just to let you know CMOT wasn't there either, it was just the usual suspects plus a new face -maplepecan.

see you next time

Ladies, ladies, ladies

Exciting news......

The estate agent has come back with a price from the vendors that we can afford!!!!!!!

Norbert, you know the price we reckoned they'd come back with, well it's 20K under that!

So....

A bit more negotiating is required re. services, land etc. and we've still got to sell ours. All in all though, it's looking a lot more promising than last week.

If we get it, I will, of course, invite you up for a sneaky peak (as long as you offer to strip wallpaper while you're there!)

CMOTDibbler · 02/03/2009 13:45

Fantastic ! I'm really annoyed that I had to miss out on hearing all the details- it's the issues of both having to travel around that can be guaranteed to clash with anything good.

Wooluff - if you fancy meeting up for a coffee one day just shout

NorbertDentressangle · 02/03/2009 14:48

Littlefish thats fantastic news!

Thats under your max then isn't it which means you won't be living on beans on toast forever?!

Any news on the water supply front?

Just give me the nod and I'll warm up my wallpaper stripper!

NorbertDentressangle · 02/03/2009 14:49

oh, forgot to ask how your weekend away went?

Furball · 02/03/2009 16:44

Hi all. Thanks for welcoming me on Friday night - had a lovely time and was really nice to meet you all. I'll keep an eye out for the next one.....

Blackduck · 03/03/2009 15:43

HITACKING THREAD - I am thinking of moving to Malvern and would like some insider info.../here

Littlefish · 11/03/2009 17:52

Quick update in case any of you are reading.

We have agreed a price for the farmhouse and some land.

We put our house on the market on Friday and today (Wednesday) received an offer which is only about 5K under the asking price !

Sooooooo, we appear to be buying an uninhabitable farmhouse and will be poor (but happy) for the rest of our lives.

Even better, because we got a better offer than we expected on our current house, DH has said that I can look at houses to rent while the work's being done, rather than moving in with the PILs .

NorbertDentressangle · 13/03/2009 16:16

Excellent news all round then Littlefish!!

I bet its a bit of a sigh of relief that you won't have to endure months with the ILs. Thats extra stress thats now been lifted.

I'll keep a watch on this thread for up-dates as I'd love to know how things go. It looks like such a lovely place -a proper home IYSWIM.

Littlefish · 13/03/2009 21:36

It's a huge relief re. living with the PILs (and I'm sure they'd say the same thing!)

The surveyor did his thing yesterday. It turns out that all the floors on the ground floor will need to be taken up and replaced because of woodworm, damp and rot. We're therefore thinking about underfloor heating now... Anyone got any experience?
