That's it really. If you want to come out to play, add your name to "the list" and show up.

The date is 27th of Feb. And the time is 7:30 onward (if you can't get there for 7:30 you are very welcome to join us when you can).

Ohhhh I wish I could come to this - I love Daquise - especially the potato pancakes with apple and sour cream - mmmmmmmm....

We used to take the ds's there when we lived down south, and although it doesn't have any of the obvious signs of being child-friendly (high chairs, childrens menu, baby change facilities), it has to be the most welcoming restaurant we went to with the boys when they were small - they loved the food, thought the extractor fan in the gents loo was worth several visits, and were entranced when the waitress took them and showed them how the dumbwaiter worked!!

Once when ds1 said thank-you on the way out, an elderly lady gave him a doughnut and told us how lovely he was.[smug emoticon]

AtheneNoctua · 23/01/2009 18:55

So come join us. Or do you live up North now.

how weird, I was just talking to a friend about Daquise today - sadly I am no longer in London

zanz1bar · 23/01/2009 19:34

just saw this on the active threads and have some wonderful memories of daquise.
i used to work in the book shop next door many, many, many moons ago.
long sundays with bad hangovers reading, drinking tea and getting paid ...bliss

have fun girls and have the potato latke for me.

AtheneNoctua · 23/01/2009 21:44

I don't even know what a potato latke is (yet).

I'm just outside Glasgow now, Athene - it's a bit far to come.

AtheneNoctua · 23/01/2009 22:04

Pity.

Of course you can!

Can you CAT me with your current e-mail address. I changed jobs and seem to have lost your e-mail on the way.

BTW, it's not "babysitting" when you look after your own kid.

I'd suggest booking it if there are going to be a lot of us (ie more than four).

How can you never have eaten a latke? Do you not have a Yiddishe Mama?

AtheneNoctua · 18/02/2009 20:29

No. My mama is actually a witch. She makes stew.

Great, would you mind do the honors then and booking a table for however many of us have signed up?
