Please add requests.

I'm thinking of making a few cds

A- slow quiet things

Mamas & Papas - dream a little dream as an example so
James Morrison / Keane/ Beatles? / portishead etc, that kind of ilk.

B - more partyish but quiet things

i.e 'sweet dreams', moloko, orbital, jackson 5 etc etc

C - full on cheese - downtown, say a little prayer, hell even living on a prayer.

D - weepy power ballads

I will compile what I can from the albums I have (feckloads) and get the rest from i tunes. Then at the venue we can switch and change depending on the mood.

Bring em on.

yay for livin on a prayer - nothing like some big haired cheese for a party

CountessDracula · 13/10/2008 23:07

D - Noooooooooooo
we aren't going to be doing snoggy slow dances are we???

Flamesparrow · 13/10/2008 23:09

weepy power ballads does seem a bit bizarre

HRHSaintMamazon · 13/10/2008 23:10

C
if its not C im not coming.

i wanna get pished happy and dance.

yes actualy maybe A. it will preserve the tiny amount of dignity i have in reserve

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/10/2008 23:10

Okay maybe not weepy, but I bet after lots of wine we'll all be wanting some power ballads.

Plus we've got to think of those bringing lemons. Must be inclusive.

I'm making loads of cds's, it's not a vote for abc or d. it's suggest ones to those themes.

Or suggest your own themes?

I want 90's indie but fear I may be alone.

OP posts:
eandz · 13/10/2008 23:59

no, i want 90s indie too.

but current indie rock is ok with me too.

Flamesparrow · 14/10/2008 07:19

i'm with eandz

lovecat · 14/10/2008 12:21

Another vote for Indie (with a side of cheese )

I've got a 160gb iPod I'm happy to lend to the cause, if that helps... it's got loads on it - would you like to confer, Devil?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 14/10/2008 12:23

lovecat how about we make lots of lists of what people want, then I'll put together what I've got and you haven't iyswim and post a dvd with all the songs on it to you, which you can then load onto your ipod. phew
Or is that complicating things?

Can someone link to the final meetup thread? I think I'm coming. I'm still in shock tbh. I went on fio's thread about going out and I'm coming with Creomola.

hoorah!

OP posts:
MwaHaHaMhamai · 14/10/2008 12:27

Cremola even. Oh and I'll dance to anything except heavy metsl or hardcore rave.

MwaHaHaMhamai · 14/10/2008 12:28

Daft question but I don't own a credit card, can I bring the 20 quid with me?

lovecat · 14/10/2008 12:29

Nope, that sounds good to me, if you don't mind doing the cds...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 14/10/2008 12:56

exciting.

I'll put them all onto a data disk so you can then transfer them to your pc then ipod.

Now suggestions please everyone! (stern glare)

So we need lots of cheese

Indie - 90s and 00s (I desperately need Ash - Girl From Mars)

For pure drunken cheese i think time warp is necessary. It may not be cool or right, but it is PARTY music. PROPER time warp though, with Columbia, not that weirdy rappish thing

lovecat · 14/10/2008 21:20

Yep, I can do Girl from Mars and (my own Ash fave) Cherry Bomb

I have so much cheese I could open a fromagerie... just name it!

SaTanicGore · 14/10/2008 21:25

Can you throw in the occasional bit of rock please.

Decent rock, from the 60s/70s

Not that I intend to dance to it (might sheuffle my zimmer), but I would like to hear the odd track here or there that I actually know.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/10/2008 21:34

oh come on can't we PLEASE have a leeetle bit of lovely MODERN STUFF/

simian mobile disco? hotchip? bit of busta rhymes which went down fabulously at the time before last? kaiser chiefs? ting tings?

i mean COME ON WE'RE NOT ALL IN OUR 60S ARE YOU WE?

Flamesparrow · 14/10/2008 21:40

Lol I am happy with modern stuff too (I know one of the klaxons dontcha know)

Seriously though - ting tings?

Heathcliffscathy · 14/10/2008 21:41

watch them dance fs...watch them dance!

lovecat · 14/10/2008 21:46

even ancient crumbly types like me like the ting tings!

Can do all of them, Soph

eandz · 14/10/2008 21:53

ok so it looks like i'll be dancing if we've got music. whose going to help keep slimy old men from wanting to pat my hair?

lovecat · 14/10/2008 21:53

have to admit that I've started making a list and so far the party will have to go on for 7 hours if it all got played...
