Okay, for all those that begged for a tuesday on the february meet-up thread .... the next city lunch will be at Pizza Pomodoro - very close to Liverpool St Station, 5 minutes walk from Moorgate. Date - Tuesday 15th March at 12:30.

Anybody welcome, just post here to confirm.

Marina · 09/03/2005 15:34

Handbags at dawn! Has Handbagaddiction got any spares, all mine are covered in Medised and babywipe residue

Kayleigh · 09/03/2005 15:37

I'm not fighting with my posh handbag, that's for sure. (You missed it at the last meet-up !)

Marina · 09/03/2005 15:42

And I was devastated to do so. Will it get a second outing next week?

DickWhittingtonsCat · 09/03/2005 16:05

I am lurking here to catch all you City babes in one place, although I can't make the next meet-up. I have also posted this on Employment Issues but since I can't ask you at lunch, please may I ask you now: "Does anyone have any technique or book which they would recommend for developing a more authoritative yet still feminine image at work? I don't mean just appearance, I mean more to do with how you speak and project yourself. I have been encouraged to project myself in a more confident and self-assured way, and I think that the advice is good. I know that I am very competent, but instead of wowing clients, I am quietly getting things done without dazzling. A big in-your-face macho show-off style will never be right for me, but I know that there is room for improvement here, still in a feminine way, but in a more impressive way. What has worked for you?" Dinosaur, the etiquette problem was self-created - he sent me a lovely thank you card for the gift I sent him, wants to meet up when he returns from abroad, and we are corresponding by email - no doubt will end up being just a good friend...

Kayleigh · 10/03/2005 14:34

Have booked the table - but it's just provisional, so if anyone else wants to join us .....

Just seen this again - did I miss a handbag fight yesterday then??? Loads of spares....as most of mine don't even get a look in these days as 1) can't be bothered to keep swapping to match outfits, and 2) most are far too impractical to support me and dd at the same time. Might use the next lunch as an excuse to give one an airing though......

DWC - not ignoring your post - just need to think if I can anything that can help...

HandbagAddiction · 14/03/2005 13:27

As this is planned for tomorrow........a great big BUMP!

dinosaur · 14/03/2005 16:56

Beachyhead just posting this here in teh hope that you or one of the other City gang might see it.

Did you ever get the cheque I sent you in December? I posted it to you at your work address. It was for £5 for the deposit for the Christmas lunch (which I ended up not going to anyway). I just happened to notice recently that the cheque has never been cashed.

beachyhead · 14/03/2005 16:59

I did, but as you didn't go either, I thought it would be a bit off to cash it.....so next time we do meet, you can buy me a diet coke . I am always in awe of people who know that cheques haven't been cashed......I am so disorganised.

Are you coming tomorrow or are you at a conference?

Hope to see you soon, and catch up with the rest of you tomorrow.......

Any newbies very welcome - excellent pizza.....

dinosaur · 14/03/2005 17:01

Are you sure? That's very kind! I was all set to go until the morning itself, but DS3 was not in very good form and I just thought it would make both of us miserable.

Will buy you lunch, never mind diet Coke, when we next meet, but unfortunately it will not be tomorrow...

frogs · 15/03/2005 09:23

Will try very hard to make it (tho' without dd2), but am having a nightmare time with builders, so may get caught up in other stuff.

binkie · 15/03/2005 10:18

Usual regretful check in to say have a lovely time. I do wish I had a chance to see more of you lot - am so looking forward to seeing you, DWCat, on Sun, but sad not to feel more part of "y'all" Citygirls.

Marina · 15/03/2005 10:51

Snot Fair indeed, bacteria are setting up stalls all over the City judging by the hacking and snuffling on my train this morning and all around me at work.
Bad luck CD, hope you feel better soon. Hope to see others later...

CountessDracula · 15/03/2005 10:58

Half my office is/has been off with this one, some of them for 10 days!!!

HandbagAddiction · 15/03/2005 11:00

Sorry Kayleigh - didn't want to usurp (if that's actually a real word??!!) you....just got worried that you might also be suffering from the lurgy that everyone else in the City appears to have..!!

Kayleigh · 15/03/2005 11:13

you can usurp all you like honey !

CD sorry you won't be there. Maybe next time.

Looking forward to this meet-up with my sane city buddies after the madness that has been mumsnet over the last couple of weeks.

See you soon.
