Not far from Paulton's Park (along A36 nr Plaitford) so pretty close to Romsey. Most of my friends live there.

My kids are littlies: 2.6 and 10 months...

HMC, I must drive past your house whenever I visit my mum, near Southampton.
Apparently there is a nice pub in West Wellow which does fantastic food, according to my stepdad.

Hi everyone, noticed your talk about a night in in the meet ups section. If anybody's interested in travelling to Wiltshire I am organising a ladies night out (calling it Funky Mamas) specifically for mums with children....a chance to let your hair down to some really good music but NOT somewhere thats full of 20 year olds with an early start and early finish (8pm - 1130) I'm organising it at a local golf course which also has a hotel, spa and swimming pool so that in the rare event that you might get a night off/away you could stay over and treat yourself. I have two young children myself (4 & 2) and kinda came up with the idea from some people that have used services through a pregnancy business that I run. if you're interested happy to provide more info....woops,, forgot the date, which is April 15th...then one on June 3rd in Marlborough !

dramaqueen72 · 13/02/2005 15:35

so DOES anyone want a southampton night out? not that i'm desperate or anything!!

maltesers · 13/02/2005 21:52

Hi Cod, my home town is Salisbury. I now live in Wellow. How many kids do you have and how old ?
i was at Godolphin School many years ago. I now have three kids, 4, 14 and 16 yr. Salisbury can be fun for a mums nite out !

maltesers · 13/02/2005 21:56

hi Dramaqueen, are you the one who called your children urchins. Thats worse than 'ankle biters' ! ! !

maltesers · 13/02/2005 21:57

Are you there HOMEBIRD 2003. dO YOU WANT TO CHAT OR MEET UP AS WE HAVE KIDS THE SAME AGE.

dramaqueen72 · 13/02/2005 23:07

urchins term of endearment in our house

handlemecarefully · 14/02/2005 10:32

Cod

Your are terribly forgetful in your old age. I distinctly remember a conversation many months ago when we both clocked on that we live in the same neck of the woods

Maltesers - I doubt that I'm much younger than you. We are probably about the same age or I might be older than you! I was an old crock when I started having kids - will be 37 in May.

Littlerach - not sure which the good pub is in West Wellow....was he thinking of the Red Rover...? I prefer the Shoe Inn at Plaitford. That's worth a visit if you are ever passing.

maltesers · 14/02/2005 20:15

COD, LITTLERACH, HMC AND DRAMAQUEEN, what do you all do for a job. Expect it Mum for most of us , most of the time. Any part time jobs with you all ? I am a fitness instructor. teach bout 4 hours per week. 3 kids keep me busy rest of time. Maybe we could all meet at the Shoe, Red Rover or whatever for a drink ? ?

dramaqueen72 · 14/02/2005 23:13

I'm a 'stayathome'. its worse than full time work, the pays crap, the hours endless and i could really do with day off!!LOL
a fitness instructor????? you realise i'm scared of you now!

handlemecarefully · 15/02/2005 08:39

Oh no Maltesers - that means you are thin and beautiful ....and I'm not!

I work 3 days a week in quite a dull office job. Still the pay is okay and stress levels low.

maltesers · 15/02/2005 17:03

dont b silly dramaqueen. I sit at home and munch my way through crunchy nut, muesli and drink at least three Jack Daniels on a Fri nite ! Am not an intimidating person at all, nor bossy. My partner wears the pants in our relationship! bossy b...r.

maltesers · 15/02/2005 17:05

Aw, now no one wants to meet me. Have some lose and flabby tum like any mum. am certainly not silf like. Slimish but not skinny.

handlemecarefully · 15/02/2005 22:23

Don't be daft maltesers. You may look like Elle Macpherson, but I am still up for a drink some time soon

dramaqueen72 · 15/02/2005 23:01

yes, well prefer it if you DIDNT look like Elle..but hey,
so how old are you all? I'm32,
and when are we going for this drink?

Steppy1 · 17/02/2005 17:15

Hi Cod /Maltesers

Sorry about delay in feedback on night out. Cod/ I'm new to this so how do we start up a new thread ? Been busy organising the Wiltshire night out which will take place on Friday April 15th back end of Easter holidays guess lots of mums will be desperate for a night out by then !! Not sure whether around the Swindon area would be too far for you to come. How do you think a similar thing in Sailsbury would go down. I mentioned that I'm planning something in marlborough (June 3rd) and am looking at other areas, hard work trying to juggle it all with 2 little 'uns particularly as my two year old has just started temper tantrums (didn't have that with my little boy !) I spent an hour and half the other night trying to reason with her about advantages of going to bed in her bed rather than mummy/ daddys bed, gave in in the end, she was asleep within 5 minutes and then I carried her back to her bed, thought that I should have just done that in the first place..Gina Ford has a lot to answer for !!
