Febbers visit Egg! (Hants)

Right. If the lady in question does not mind an invasion let's have a look at paying her a visit.

Thursdays are the best day since her DS1 is in nursery.

Train from Waterloo takes 55 mins. I would suggest we leave after 10 (after peak fares if poss) and avoiding rush hour in London.

Egg - suggested dates are:

July 17th
July 24th
July 31st
August 7th

Let us know if any of those are good or bad and then let's see who can make what dates.

a proper family affair sounds lovely... we could stalk the likes of princessllama and morningglory to get some playmates for him

Gill79 · 08/07/2008 19:34

cool this is getting very exciting. Tyaca have no room in my brain for travel detaisl just now but thanks - I will reread once I have made some more space by forgetting other things.

Hello all. Beany I am hoping to plan this around my DS1 being in nursery as I really don't think I can handle all three while trying to socialise, and I wont be able to sit still for a minute if he is around, but I feel sad as I know he would love to play with your DS1 as yours is a bit older which my DS1 prefers (rather than silly old babies...). If it is peeing down at least I have a lot of toys at my place for him to play with (but prob not much room for about 12 people.....).

Had a crappy crappy day yesterday , even with my mum here. Better today thankfully. DS1 is being a spoiled brat. Am setting new rules for him and hope it works.

Hi girls. Just to confirm that my parents will definitely come down on 31 July so hope 7 Aug is still good for everyone. I am really quite excited.

Of course in her dreams Tyaca has already been to my house!

AbbyMumsnet · 14/07/2008 21:48

Please excuse the butting in, but if you haven't posted about this on Mumsnet Local may we graciously suggest that you do so! (Can you tell we've been asked to remind you lot about it?)

beansprout · 15/07/2008 21:48

Abby - not sure if that's fair on Egg as we are going to her house and we all know each other from the Feb 08 thread, so it's not really open to everyone in the area. Hope I am not speaking out of turn, but don't want to see Egg's house invaded!!

Egg · 16/07/2008 14:15

My house is not big enough! It is quite small really...

Hoping to meet up in park but if it rains everyone will be at my house and I don't really want others who I don't "know" there...

beansprout · 19/07/2008 20:37

Are we saying 7th August then?

tyaca · 20/07/2008 18:35

lol egg - i'll see if i can bring shirley bassey with me, ronan i know has other plans.

and yes febbers only! tho' am i right in thinking that all of you guys (save maybe gill??) are all jan mums and i am a marcher

gingermumi · 21/07/2008 11:46

7th good for me. looking forward to meetig you all. i think 'feb' relates to thread rather than actual birthdays as we have lots of jan and march babies. not sure it would be poss to open it up especially as egg has offered use of her house if rain stops play (as it were).

fryalot · 21/07/2008 11:51

egg - just a small quickie hijack... if you want some help with the three of them, I could come along on 7th August (with dd1) and we could pitch in. Then ds wouldn't have to miss out...

Gill79 · 21/07/2008 23:20

Great - gad to see all confirmed. Really looking forward to it. I'm a janner as well Tyaca. So lots of big kids and then little Esther!

OP posts:
bearmama · 21/07/2008 23:31

Egg - another hijack sorry- did you get my post thanking you for the Hugabub? I use it all the time and its fab

Egg · 22/07/2008 13:09

Oooh look at all these hijacks!

Bearmama did not see your post (I don't think) but you did thank me lots on email so I knew you were grateful, how is your DD doing??? Feel sad I couldn't send more clothes but my DD is no doubt way smaller than yours now so nothing would fit her!

Squonk that is such a lovely offer. You are a star. Am organising for a Thurs so DS1 is not around anyway so should be ok with just the babies, but if you fancy "popping" round the M25 any other day that week (ie Tues/Weds/Fri) we would love to see you. Not that I wouldn't love to see you on 7th but would be nicer to see you separately so we could actually catch up properly.

gingermumi · 22/07/2008 16:10

We're jan too. Toby certainly comes in as a big baby, had him weighed today, 20lb 1 1/2 ozs. He's so long he's now off the graph!

Egg · 23/07/2008 14:06

Jan here too. I think DS2 weighs about 17lbs now, even though everyone says he is huge he really isn't, just huge compared to DD. She might have reached 13lbs now!

Egg · 30/07/2008 20:24

We will have to start finalising our plans ladies!!!!

What time do you think you will all be hoping to get to Winchester?

Gill79 · 30/07/2008 23:18

I am thinking of trying to get the train from London at 10-10.30 (so arriving Winchester 11 - 11.30)

want to avoid peak fare if poss and leave myself long enough to get to the station.

Am torn between pushchair and baby rucksack. That may influence tube v bus to the station. A recent thread of the day was about buggies on escalators and it scared me - someone was talking about seeing a buggy fall down! Crp. Anyway.

Bean - what sort of time will you be able to leave London? Is anyone else leaving from London? Tyaca if we can get the same train as you we should try.

And also shall we all bring some picnic items? I can bring chocolate pudding! And anything else required.

OP posts:
gingermumi · 31/07/2008 17:15

Let me know time and place. Are we all bringing soemthing for picnic then? Sorry for not keeping up!

Gill79 · 01/08/2008 19:37

Hi all

The likely trains from Waterloo that stop at Clapham Junction are: 1005 (Clapham Junction 1012, Winchester 1105) and 1039 (Clapham Junction 1046, Winchester 11.51)

Cheap (ish) day return available at both times. Think we can travel back at any time.

Bean /Tyaca (anyone else?) - which do you prefer?

Egg · 02/08/2008 10:59

Have mailed you back ginger .

Am excited!

tyaca · 02/08/2008 15:33

hiya, either of those trains work well for me gill. shall we all bring a couple of picnic bits and bobs? i also have two cheapy picnic rugs. prob wouldnt seat us all but would be a good start. gill i am just venturing out with push chair for first time. much prefer the sling but for extended periods dd gets antsier. going to use pushcahir on friday, tho' i hate the thought of having to rely on strangers at clapham jnct to help me on stairs.
