Anyone fancy a meet-up? I know there was one a while ago in the Natural History Museum at Tring - but we could go to Wendover woods now the weather is nicer. Or anywhere really.

Waddya think??

hi am in herts too

ClareVoiant · 11/06/2008 09:56

Sorry, busy spell at work. Where are you urban? And how old is your ds? I have ds who's nearly 3. Have never thought about taking him to a museum, what kind of things are on display at tring?

theSuburbanDryad · 11/06/2008 10:01

Clare - i'm not far from you, I'm in Chesham!

Tring museum is really good, it's mostly glass cases with stuffed animals in! I suppose it might be a bit creepy, but we really like it - mainly because it's a good (free) place to go when it's raining!

ds is 17 months btw

Where are you SGK? do you think you'd like to come on a meet-up in Tring?

theSuburbanDryad · 11/06/2008 10:08

If you can get to Tring you're in! I think there's someone further down from South Beds moonmother (great name btw!)

Thanks urban
Tring no bother from here and have been meaning to go to the museum for ages,I haven't been in years

ClareVoiant · 11/06/2008 10:25

Dp used to work in chesham, not far at all. I'm sure ds would like the animals, as long as he doesn't have to be quiet/stand still

theSuburbanDryad · 11/06/2008 10:31

Nah - my ds runs around like a loon, and apart from the odd disapproving look from the pensioners who seem to live there i've had no bother! the staff/curators seem to really love kids, and make a big fuss of ds whenever we go! sounds like i'm there the whole time, but i'm really not!

They won't let you take a buggy round though, when ds was littler i would pop him in the sling or carry him on my shoulders!

Lol, there's always one oldie. When dc's are babies, you can't keep them away, then as soon as they start to walk and talk its all children-never-behaved-like-that-in-my-day looks.

ranting · 11/06/2008 11:08

Moonmother, I'm in the back end of beds too! Thought I was the only one.

ClareVoiant · 11/06/2008 11:14

Anyway, forgot to say, am free most afternoons. Work on weekday mornings. Could do a weekend too :-)

WriggleJiggle · 19/06/2008 21:08

Hello, would love to come and join you. Have you agreed a date yet?

theSuburbanDryad · 19/06/2008 21:16

I'm working this weekend and next - how about the weekend after that?

youcannotbeserious · 19/06/2008 21:43

can i join please ?

very close to tring and have ds.

Alambil · 20/06/2008 00:35

Can non-child-present MNers come? DS will be in school

fortyplus · 20/06/2008 00:40

Wendover woods is great! Ashridge has the tea shop, though...

Alambil · 20/06/2008 00:42

Wendover has the cafe too

I heart Wendover - fantastic kids parties by the way

fortyplus · 20/06/2008 00:47

Mine are a bit big for that now - ds2 wants to have a couple of friends to do GoApe for his b-d.

theSuburbanDryad · 20/06/2008 07:55

I've been nagging my boss to pay for us to go to Go Ape (as a corporate team building event, natch! )

The only thing about going to Wendover instead of the Natural History Museum is that it'll be more difficult to contain ds there - and the cafe is more expensive! Maybe we could take a picnic?

Lewis - we're planning to do it on a weekend so you would probably have ds with you, wouldn't you?
