just thought I should update this now after the exciting ending. Kitty, Starry & amynnix - hope you managed to get to your car in time. Hope you got home ok too Sparkler!! Well, after speaking to 3 people in different parts of the country, we were finally let out of the car park by a lovely man who we spoke to in Brighton of all places who was able to open the gate from his office. My goodness, what a relief. Nearly went into early labour trying to run to the car to get out in time before the gate shut again and we didn't even have to pay for a ticket in the end. What a result. So we sped like Thelma & Louise + 1 through the gates and then the streets of Bournemouth . I can't tell you what a relief it is! Had a brilliant night, we must must must organise something again soon. Kitty & Amynnixmum, thank you for lending me your ears, hope they don't hurt too much . Goodnight!

Brilliant driving, Delgirl, haven't had so much excitement in ages!

It was lovely to meet everybody and I'm looking forward to the next night out - soon!

(My only regret this morning is eating those spicy beans .)

Thank goodness, I hardly dared look ! The other carpark looks as if it's 24 hours so it was fine - I feel really bad for running off and leaving you all in there - I just had a horrible feeling that it might shut at midnight - we must have looked quite a sight running up the steps ! . You must be totally shattered this morning Delgirl (and my ears don't hurt at all )

Sparkler, did you get back alright ? I've found your picture in the SW mag. How's everyone's heads this morning then ? It really was a brilliant night and I look forward to the next one, though I think we might need to think the parking arrangement through before it ......

Hi. Yes I made it home okay. Still recovering from the shock of the taxi fare at the moment. Haven't used a taxi from Bournemouth for ages - £10.50!!!!! and that was BEFORE midnight.
I had a great time too and it was good to meet you all too. Have actually surprised myself this morning as I remember ALL your names and which mumsnet name goes with each!! Couldn't have had as much wine as I thought!!
Thanks for organising it Bunny2. Great good, great wine and great company.

So Delgirl - update me on the car park incident. Sounds like you had problems with something.

I hate being stranded without my car. We could've all got a taxi home but it's just such a pita to get it again the next day. Got tot the car park just as the gate was closing. Tried banging on the door but no-one came. We then spotted the exit gate so ran to that just as it closed. Its like a big garage roller shutter door type thing . We tried to get a police car to stop to help but they didn't see us. Finally Jodee managed to open the side door so we got inside the car park but with no way of getting the car out. I rang customer services expecting to be told to get lost but managed to speak to someone in Brighton who was very nice and was able to open the gate for us. Phew!!!! Thats it really.

Glad you got home ok. Sorry you had to get a taxi. We could make the next meet in Poole if you like. Oh, maybe you can organise it

Take care
