Hello everyone, been a bit preoccupied with house buying since Thursday but the good news is that we now have our very own house in Barnsley hurrah! Collected the keys today and have been for a look at it and it is great! Got to get some work done over this week and then moving in on 28th. All very exciting, will have to have some kind of house warming once we have unpacked!

JA - am up for pizza, dh is working and mum can look after ds so just keep me posted

Knickers - so sorry to hear about what has been going on, have been thinking of you lots. Big hugs to you and that gorgeous dd of yours

Anyone up for JB on Thursday? Mornings are better for me

itsahardknocklife · 19/04/2008 22:59

Hiccy, that must be it! I shall pop in one day to try it myself. But I promise not to break a window!!

Norwich, I don't think I shall make JB this Thursday. It's payday the week after so funds are starting to run low Cor we shall really have to start to budget well when we lose my wage after August

Friendlypizzaeater · 19/04/2008 23:47

The Playcentres might be full on Tursday if any of the schools do get shut ???

itsahardknocklife · 19/04/2008 23:50

does that mean I am on strike this Thursday? lol I would be if I was at work. That doesn't quite make sense, but you know what I mean!

itsahardknocklife · 20/04/2008 00:14

I'm off to bed now. I am still planning to go to the Hospice sale in Walton tomorrow if anyone else is up for it and fancies a bargain. Let's just hope DH can get up at 9am after watching the boxing in the early hours of the morning

itsahardknocklife · 20/04/2008 10:29

I would have been striking if I had been at work. Just so I could say I was involved! (and before anyone gets funny saying that I don't care about the kids I teach - no I bloody well don't! Little scroats, the lot of them!)

Knickers relax and enjoy your solitude
Just got back from Walton - got lots of clothes for Dennis. I shall now stop cutting the armholes out of a pillowcase for him!

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 14:08

We've just turned ds cot into a bed. But we broke it in the process . This is the one we've got and the bottom of the 2 panels you can see is meant to come off but it bloody wouldn't move, it was glued in or something and we broke it trying to get it out. The other one came out fine. It's fine as a bed but we won't be able to use it as a cot again if we ever need to.

itsahardknocklife · 20/04/2008 15:43

Oh dear Phoenix. At least it is ok as a bed though. I am already worrying about putting DS into a bed - do you still have a stairgate on the top of your stairs or not?

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 15:46

I've just put a gate on his door this morning cos his room is the attic so to get to us he needs to come downstairs.

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 20/04/2008 15:55

Ah good idea. We can't put a gate on the top of the stairs because of where the banister is, and we have been using a travel stairgate on his bedroom door. I think when we get him a bed we shall put a proper gate on his bedroom door. And locks on the windows.

Friendlypizzaeater · 20/04/2008 16:02

We couldn;t use a normal stairgate as our 'gap was too big so we used one of these

hiccymapops · 20/04/2008 16:28

Hello

itsa you are more than welcome to come for a cuppa, and trace i do have coffee Although the biscuit situation is usually pants! (apart from ginger snaps for my 24 hour morning sickness!!!!) That actually could've been why i got a cracked window, they didn't looked impressed at my biscuit selection

Mark wants to turn Bens cotbed into a bed now, but he gets up so many times through the night, i'm not sure yet.

trace2 · 20/04/2008 16:37

friendly thats what i need too

itsahardknocklife · 20/04/2008 17:10

Friendly, I like that gate - I think it would work at the top of our stair, even with the banister. It's expensive, though, but worth it. I shall show DH.

Ah, Hiccy, a person can get angry when only offered ginger biscuits!

Hiccy and Phoenix, I shall let you both sort out what is best for putting little boys into beds and then I'll do it and you can tell me how. Tee hee. Ditto with potty training when that comes around.

trace2 · 20/04/2008 18:47
