Hello

Still no internet at home so i'm posting from my mums again.

for your purse Trace.

for ds' eye and trip to A & E Itsa

So when are we re arranging the pizza night to? The 3rd was mentioned before and i said i couldn't do it but can now and should be free any other Saturday

I'm feeling a bit and today. After a while talking through the pros and cons we've decided to re home our dog. We're really not giving him enough attention and think he will be better off with someone who can. Ds just terrorises him most of the time and the dog won't go near him if he can help it. And neither me and dh realised how tying a dog is. So we've made the decision and found him some new owners (my friends parents who love dogs and we know he'll be really well looked after) and he's going tomorrow. We feel really guilty for it but we know it really is best for him and us.

Ah Phoenix, it's a hard choice. We got our dog earlier this year from a family who couldn't give him the time he deserved. We love him to bits, and are very pleased that they made their decision because he's made our family complete. So think of it that way - I know you feel guilty but it's for the best.
When I lost my flat a few years ago, I had to take my 6 cats to a rescue centre and I was heart-broken but had no choice. I still think of them, but it was the only thing I could do.
And you know where he's going so that'll be nice. When I found out I was preggers we had a crazy dog who we knew would be no good for kids, and he now lives with a friend of mine and he has the life of old riley. It's nice for me to be able to see him now and again too.
You had a tough choice, but it's for the best, I'm sure.
(sorry for the ramble)

knickers hope you find some nice new owners for your dog.

Thanks Itsa, I never thought of it like that. Does the guilt and feeling like a failure feeling ever go away?

I've just got back from taking him to see them and they love him and said they'd take him on loads of walks and look after him well and we can come to see him whenever we like We're going to get all his stuff ready this afternoon and i'll take him to his new home tomorrow.

Why knickers, what's up?

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 26/04/2008 13:22

Oh what's happened, Knickers?

Phoenix, the guilt has lessened, but not gone away with my cats. I don't feel guilty about the dog at all, because I am 100% certain that he is happy. You know where he's going so I think you'll feel ok when you know he's settled in.

trace2 · 26/04/2008 17:00

I think, in the absence of anything to pick it up with, I'd have left it and walked off very quickly!

Friendlypizzaeater · 26/04/2008 21:45

Been popping on all day long - would have had to cancel anyway - bloody parties

I remember my knicker elastic going one day whan I was a young 18 and my knickers fell down in a shop. I thought about it but had a q behind me so decided if I bent down they would notice so I calmly stepped out of them and walked out of the shop - gawd knows what the assistant thought later !

We got a dog years ago and had to rehome it as we just could not walk it enough - one day we went out for 4 hours - he was off the lead in fields so running all over the place, we got home knackered and 20 mins later he was at the door crying to go for another walk, he went to a postie who was going to take him on his rounds every day. We felt like shit for weeks but it was the best thing for him. Although we are getting a dog in August .....

Hope everyone is OK

Dawn x

itsahardknocklife · 26/04/2008 22:23

Pizza, you should see Cheeky Monkeys in Hudds - that is a weird place!

Friendlypizzaeater · 26/04/2008 22:51

Oh - why ?

I think it has good and bad points like all of us .....

itsahardknocklife · 27/04/2008 00:00

The decor is fantastic and the food is great, but you have to go up a lot of stairs to get to it - which is no mean feat when you are carrying a toddler!
