we currently live on the wirral with ds7 ds6 and dd3

any advice - areas, good schools, any problem with us being English - though Im half Welsh though bruoght up in Ireland!
whats Mold like?
please help!! dh useless at present

CelluliteQueen · 05/02/2005 13:52

Hi hereshoping

I'm not that far from Mold and have a few friends in that area and all say that the schools are very good. Mold itself is a nice little market town (very busy on market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays) and you've got the Moel Famau country park on the doorstep (my dog and I know every possible walk in that area). Not a huge choice of shops in Mold but all the main ones like Boots, W H Smiths, Woolies and there's quite a good Tesco. There are lots of lovely villages on the periphery with excellent village pubs. Ones I'd recommend are Cilcain (gorgeous), Pantymwyn, Llanarmon yn Ial, Nercwys and Sychdyn. Really don't think it's a problem not being Welsh, I think there are a lot of English over that way.

HTH,
CQ

thanks CQ
was down having a look yesterday and walking kids and dogs in Loggerheads - just gorgeous - but murky day
my mums welsh - a fact Ive ribbed her about for yrs and she thinks its hilarious im thinking of moving there

CelluliteQueen · 09/02/2005 19:42

hereshoping, I love Loggerheads and like I said it's well walked territory for dog and I. Are you still thinking of moving this way? How do house prices compare to the Wirral?

hereshoping · 09/02/2005 22:50

good - can afford more down there - really want a field as well - I had a scruffy pony when I was a kid
where are yours at school and will they go to Mold for secondary? any recommendations in that department

Hereshoping, my DS is only 18mo and I'm about 18 miles away from Mold so can't help you on secondary education front (although I could ask my friend). I'm also horsey (well I used to be before I lost my confidence). Have been on a few fun rides round there and it's the most fabulous riding territory (although I suppose that you're used riding on the beach living on the Wirral? Very jealous if so!!).

hereshoping · 10/02/2005 20:55

i wish - ds8 ds6 and dd3 prevent much galloping along beach!
have to go to THomas the Tank engine weekend at Llangollen this weekend for train mad ds so am combining it with another prowl around

CelluliteQueen · 12/02/2005 08:02

Good luck! Keep me posted.
