oh no. Is it really bad?

Phoenix · 09/02/2008 17:17

Right, not really read but they are keeping ds in hospital overnight. They're treating it as an infection so he needs ab's via a canula on his birthday too. I've just nipped home for some things for me and him and hope they put the canula in while i'm not there. He's been crying hysterically whenever a doc or nurse has been near him

itsahardknocklife · 09/02/2008 18:04

what's a canula?
The poor little thing - not a good birthday at all.
Let me know if there's anything I can do x

ItsPotatoesForYouMyLad · 09/02/2008 20:33

a canula is when they put a tube directly into the body - usually the back of the hand - so they can put medicine straight in without the need for lots of seperate injections. it's horrible, but not that unusual and i don't think anything to worry about.

thinking of you all pheonix {{{hugs}}}

MmeCellophane · 09/02/2008 20:37

Oh... I came on because I realised I forgot to wish little Phoenix a Happy Birthday. Seems it's not happy at all .

Hope he's OK, Phoenix. It makes a big difference when you can stay with them, doesn't it?

itsahardknocklife · 09/02/2008 20:44

oh one of those thingys. Gosh, it seems unfair for such a small person to have one. But it's worth it if it makes him better.

MmeCellophane · 09/02/2008 20:46

My DS1 had to have one when he was only just 3. I think it upset me more than him though!

itsahardknocklife · 09/02/2008 20:50

yes that's a good point. Little people are more resistant than we give them credit for

trace2 · 09/02/2008 21:06

I always wash my stuff before I send it. I've had some lovely bundles where everything has been ironed too! I don't go that far - in fact we don't own an iron at the mo
It's crap when you get something that's dirty.
Is the stuff worth washing?
