Canterbury or Whitstable meet?

Having recently started chatting to some kent mums on other threads I searched in vain for any Canterbury or similar meets, so I thought I may as well start one...

So, FioFio, Freckle, Fllightattendant, Jaz et al.... are you on for a local meet (ideally evening or weekend)? I spend my life with friends in London and would love to meet up with some locals instead...

Ooh! I just saw this!

ahem. Well I am really scared but yes, yes I will come if I'm still invited...I would love to meet you all...REAL LIFE mumsnetters! I always want to ask everyone I see if they are a mumsnetter. I am really sad aren't I!

I'm Canterbury but happy to travel a little bit. Can we bring babies? Mum will be scared if I leave her with them both...

I work in London though, so would never get back in time.
Anyway it's in my diary in anticipation.
How about everyone carries a newspaper? or shall I just look for the loud and lairy women in the corner

padboz · 22/02/2008 21:30

newspapers? flowers? its mumsnet - I think we should all wear something sick stained. At least by the end of the evening.

Is this restricted to just Canterbury/ Whitstable people? I'm in Maidstone - but always up for a trip out.

Oh cool - lots of MNers in the vicinity.

Is Cafe Rouge Canterbury ok with everyone? Say 7.30 onwards? Ingles I am sure we will be there for quite a while so why not slip in when you can?

Don't worry about spotting the MNers - it always turns out to be obvious who we are! For those who haven't been to one of these before it's just like taking your kids on a playdate except with alcohol added children removed.

oh bugger - can't do an evening meet up -DH won't get home in time, and DD will not be fed early enough...by the time I would get to Canterbury, you lot woulod have already done all the ice breaker games, and I'd be the last saddo. Not sure DH would be up for babysitting for me to go out with MNers either.
