i am waiting on drac's ruling on this....ds sleeping badly so so so so so badly last night, that the thought of quiet night in is very appealing indeed.

however, if drac can drag her sorry, bruised, black-eyed arse over there....then by god so can i!

eleusis · 01/02/2008 16:55

Am leaving work now, and will have my finger tighly crossed that you both can make it.

I haven't heard a peep from quint or mag, so I think if you guys come we will still only have 8 people, and still be able to order as we like from the menu.

QuintessentialShadow · 01/02/2008 17:27

That was my contribution to try convince sophable, btw.

ComeOVeneer · 01/02/2008 17:32

Well lo's are sitting at the table having been bribed with chicken nuggets (homemade) and oven chips . I have bought dh a microwave meal . Am heading to the shower to try and turn myself from sahm with a snot streaked sleeve (courtesy of ds) into a suitable dinning companion for all you glamorous wohm . See you later.

QuintessentialShadow · 01/02/2008 17:39

Well, I have barnard matthews turkey escalops in the oven.... boiling potatoes and carrots, broccoli and baby sweetcorn....

Courtesy of my husband going to Tesco last week, bringing that, 3 ducks, beetroot and quail eggs.

I am sure youd dh will survive, COV!

ComeOVeneer · 01/02/2008 17:47

LOL. He is having that because otherwise he will spend a fortune ordering a take away from "the good earth". I did make and extra confit of duck on wednesday for him, but I think heating that in the oven and prepping some veg/mash potato won't happen

xoxo · 01/02/2008 17:58

V excited. am nagging dh by text to get his sorry bottom here so I can play....

Hate bloody Mary's (too much Vitamin C). Lonfging for nice glass of wine......

sorry guys I'm not going to make it
I feel like I have been in a car crash! The thought of going out is not appealing at all I'm afraid....

Have a lovely time xx

ComeOVeneer · 01/02/2008 19:09

CD sorry to hear you can't make it. Hope you have a speedy recovery. BTW are you taking arnica? I know there are plenty of sceptics but professionally I really to belive it aided healing. Another time hopefully. Mind you I am still waiting for dh to get home!

CountessDracula · 01/02/2008 19:15

no like a twit I can't find mine and haven't bought any. I did put the cream on my eye and it seems to have helped a lot, well haven't got too bad a shiner.

I will go and have another look and get some tomorrow

thanks!

Heathcliffscathy · 01/02/2008 21:04

i'm at home and really regretting not coming but knowing it was right thing to do as am absolutely shattered and (depressingly) suspect same again (i.e. shenanigins with ds) tonight.

at least you all get to eat what you like!!!

QuintessentialShadow · 01/02/2008 21:41

Well, I am at home too. Sorry to have missed you guys. I drove to Richmond as it was so nearby, not really planning on drinking, as going for a whole day thing tomorrow, meeting an Irish artist for lunch at the National Gallery tomorrow, and then onto a play, and dinner.

But could not find parking for the life of me, so returned home.

BecauseImWorthIt · 02/02/2008 08:43

That's a real shame Quint - it was a good evening.

Sorry too not to get to meet CD and Sophable. Next time perhaps?

CD - try the arnica tablets rather than the cream. I managed to slam the front door on my finger recently which ended up with the most spectacular (and spreading) bruise, and the nurse at our GP's surgery recommended them. I am a bit of a sceptic, but have to say that the results were astonishing. You could almost see the bruise disappearing.

It was a lovely evening, and great to meet xoxo and bubble.

My head does feel a tad sore and I'm probably not in the best frame of mind for 2 hours of Chinese this morning!

Thank you all.

awwww....sounds like it was great! hope to see you next time.

as predicted ds kicked off at about 1am and ended up in our bed, so very tired here....

any tips for a four year old that has decided he 'doesn't know how to make his body go to sleep/is having scarey dreams?'

eleusis · 02/02/2008 14:44

I had a nice time, too. But, I did witness a not so happy event as I was leaving. Just after Jura and BIWI headed into the station in Richmond and I joined the taxie queue, a fight broke out. There were about ten young guys (in their 20s?) in front of me. Then a black guy started yelling at them about jumping the queue and taking his taxi and saying it was because he was black and they were white and so on... I have no idea if something was said that provoked this. But, it was clear everyone had been drinking. Any way severl of the were physically fighting. And, then I looked down and one of the white guys was lying in the street with his hear in the road and his legs up on the pavement and not moving at all. Not even wiggling a toe. Finally the police went over and then it was my turn to get in the taxi. As we drove out the 316 an Amulance was coming from the other way -- so possibly to help the guy. I don't know but the whole thing looked very grim. I still keeping thinking of that guy lying there not moving at all and hope he was only knocked unconcious. Also, the taxi driver told me he saw it coming and went over and told the police there was a fightstatring and the police just said "yeah mate we know" and did nothing. So they could have stopped it but didn't.

It was horrible.

I hope he is okay.

QuintessentialShadow · 02/02/2008 14:49

Poor you Eleusis, that is a horrible thing to witness. Are you ok now?

As you know, I was driving around Richmond looking for parking between 7.45 and 8.45 (sad git as I am), and I saw there were lots of people out in their best club/party gear, lots of police, and even police running talking into their mikes.

Is this usual for Richmond?

eleusis · 02/02/2008 15:13

Thank, but it's poor him not poor me.

QuintessentialShadow · 02/02/2008 15:20

Of course it is.

Bubble99 · 02/02/2008 15:37

Thanks, ele - for organising such a lovely evening.

I don't know about you, but I really enjoyed my Bloody Marys

As predicted, I was woken just after 5am so I was glad that I'd left when I did. Mr Bubble had offered to do the early shift but as he doesn't have boobs...........he wouldn't have been able to do much.

Anyway. Thanks again. I really enjoyed meeting up with you all.

And sadly -your experience on the way home is becoming all too frequent in Richmond on the weekends.
