Just out of interest, are there any other mumsnetters in the north west. We have just moved to Lancashire.

Daytime sounds good and definitely without kids I think!!! How about a late lunch somewhere?

berries · 03/10/2002 19:46

I'll second the without kids!! I think mine are older than most of the others and finding something to interest all of them might be tricky. Plus it would be nioce to have a bit of time off!

sorry - should have been nice - Brummie accent coming out.

Hilary · 04/10/2002 08:26

That's going to be a problem for me. If you all arrange something then I will come if I possibly can.

Sorry, I refreshed it hours later and my message went on again. Sorry, I didn't realise it would do that.

I am on alternate weekends with ex h with the children so it depends which weekend we choose. Mine are quite old as well, 13,9 and (will be) 6. Would leave the 13 year old and the other two are quite happy in a brewers fayre type pub.

Rhubarb · 04/10/2002 15:14

Well obviously if people are finding it hard to get babysitters, then by all means bring the kids. Just so long as they are used to a bunch of mums getting roaring drunk and discussing 'Rabbits'!!! A family friendly pub/restaurant can be arranged. But it would be miles for better for you, the mum, if your kids were being looked after 'cause then you can relax and enjoy yourself more!

So how about the 18th or 25th of January? They are both Saturdays. If I give a date out this far in advance it gives everyone time to make arrangements doesn't it?

lilibet · 04/10/2002 17:01

either is fine, if its the 18th I am childless, if its the 25th I am childplus!

leander · 04/10/2002 23:05

Could we make it the 25th as its Ds first bithday on the 19th and mummy with a hangover is not good

Rhubarb · 07/10/2002 16:16

How is everyone else fixed for those dates?

Hilary · 10/10/2002 09:38

Yes, in theory I could do either, but I don't have a diary for next year and I will have no idea how dh's work will pan out until much nearer the time.

C'mon Berries - this was your idea! Pick a date and a city and we'll see who can come!

lilibet · 10/10/2002 21:59

Berries, you said you weren't sure about coming as your children were older, mine will be 9 and 6, how old are yours? As i said mine are fine in a brewers fayre type pub, quite used to hearing mum get louder and louder! I would prefer without but if we are doing an afternoon I can't get a sitter the same as I can at a night.

berries · 14/10/2002 13:27

Oops - sorry - very busy last week & missed these messages.
Anyway, my 2 darling dds are 7 (just) and 5, but I will probably come without them. Can do either date, so suggest we have a vote & the one with the most votes wins. Would suggest Manchester as a venue, but only because its closer to me, again, if everyone makes their preference known, we can pick the most popular one. Its probably less hassle for me to travel further as I wont have the kids with me. If people would like to e-mail me personally, you can get my e-mail address from tech - haven't got round to setting up an anonymous one yet (ie that I don't mind being plastered all over the web).
So - to recap
vote for 18 or 25 Jan
vote for Preston or Manchester
Let me know if you will be with kids or without, & if you have a preferred venue

lilibet · 15/10/2002 20:38

25th at night best for me, and would go to either. Will probably be able to make it whenever tho'
