Leanderxx

emsiewill · 27/09/2002 19:26

Zoe, no I don't think I do know you - I only know 1 person who went to CTK, and she's called Sharon, a couple of years older than you. We're from the other side of S'port (Blowick/High Park).

lilibet · 28/09/2002 13:51

A January meet up sounds good, anyone any ideas? Was Preston mentioned?

Kanesmum · 28/09/2002 15:41

Leander - computer broke and been on hols to Ibiza for 2 weeks. Now everything is back to normal I can start logging on again. Both Dh and Ds are ok and excited about the new baby. Ds doesn't really understand a bit young still. Hope you and your family are ok bet J is getting big. K is 15 mths now just had the MMR inj and has been quite ill. He is full of cold and has a bad cough. Can't remember when I had a decent nights sleep. Am hoping he settles back to his routine when he feels better. Your right I can't wait to move back to Barrow now getting a bit fed up of our rented place now. Was in touch with DB and SIL the other day by phone, going to see them next week when K is better. Nice to hear from you.x

Rhubarb · 28/09/2002 20:35

Wahey! Did I see Preston in type then? Well I'm flattered! Preston is ace - really! So whaddya all think then?

janh · 28/09/2002 22:57

You pick somewhere, Rhubarb! (You're the best one to do it!)

KMG · 29/09/2002 19:40

Kanesmum - meeting up sounds great. When are you moving? How's the packing? Ask Tech to give you my email address, and we'll arrange to meet up. My youngest is nearly 3.5, so older than yours.

Kanesmum · 29/09/2002 20:42

KMG - We are moving up on the weekend of 19th Oct. Packing going ok, sorted out all our clothes this weekend it's amazing how much rubbish you keep. Most of the furniture is in storage in Barrow. Once we have swapped email addresses we can chat a bit more.

Rhubarb · 30/09/2002 13:58

Well I'd love to pick Preston, but let's have a democratic vote on it shall we? How many people are interested in Berries' idea of a meet-up? (I don't want to nick your idea Berries - perhaps you have a preference of where to meet?)

lilibet · 30/09/2002 18:54

Either Preston on Manchester would be good for me, Sure Rhubabrb could pick somewhere good for us!

berries · 30/09/2002 19:42

Rhubarb, would prefer Manchester myself, but could get to Preston if the trains are running (big problem at the moment). Sound out everyone else & I'll go with the flow. Please can we have it in Jan though, as I've missed the recent meet ups as couldn't make the dates.

Rhubarb · 30/09/2002 20:27

Berries, as it was your idea, course we can have it in Jan! Manchester is also fine for me, but like you say, we'll sound everyone else out first.

leander · 30/09/2002 21:23

I don't mind where, Preston or Manchester are much of a muchness to me.Cant wait to meet everyone though.

A face painting convention? What do you do all day, if its not a stupid question? do you have children to practice on? I would volunteer, I love having it done! Yes I know childish, but I make a good tiger! but sorry, no to the Southport question.

emsiewill · 30/09/2002 22:35

SueW - do you have any more info about the face painting convention? Is it open to the public? Can people come along & be painted? I have lots of relatives with kids in Southport who would love to go along, if that's possible.

Preston or Manchester, don't mind really. Preferably not somewhere really hard to find as I will drive but don't know the area too well yet! January is fine.

What about one of these farms you've mentioned...I'm presuming this is a get together with kids...or am I wrong?

OP posts:
lilibet · 01/10/2002 21:05

Hilary, we are less than 10 miles apart, we could sort out a lift together? Not sure if its with or without children yet, I had presumed it would be an evening without!

leander · 02/10/2002 13:31

I don't mean to sound like the wicked mum but I would prefer it without children, but I'll go with the flow if everyone else wants to bring their rugrats.

Hilary · 02/10/2002 22:02

And I don't mean to sound like a party pooper but I would prefer a daytime jaunt with kids as my husbands works most evenings so it is hard for me to catch him in so I can go out.

Hilary · 02/10/2002 22:03

And sorry Lilibet, I meant to add that yes we could, that's a good idea, thanks.

On a totally different note, I need a recommendation. A few years back we had a family portrait taken for my mums 70th birthday and she loved it. It's still up although the family has decreased by one (dh!) and I know hse doesn't like having it there, but would feel awkward on the children's behalf if she took it down. I would love another one done of me and the children, a more informal one, does anyone know of any good photographers? My mate won a portrait session recently and they got some excellent shots but the lady normally charged £75 for a 6 x 4!! Just to put my poor mum out of her anguish over what to do about this photo, other than the obvious dartboard answer!

leander · 03/10/2002 09:42

Hi lilibet, I had some portraits done of Ds by Olan mills, they cost £25 for 4 sittings but the prints are only 10x8 I'm not sure how much enlargements are but they are very good pictures.
