I don't think they would go with the frock tbh.

I am tempted to bring it over to yours for a look next week.....

ProjectIcarus · 07/12/2007 16:31

I was meaning the tights btw.

prettybird · 07/12/2007 16:41

harrisey · 08/12/2007 02:25

Have been meaining to post for ages.

I am still coming (must pay deposit!!!), and can go with those of you on 5/5.30 train (MIL has agreed to babysit as dh has work night out that day - I pushed that this is my "work night out") and will come home with prettybird on the 11.30.

Are there any arrangements as to where/when we meet at Queen street?

harrisey · 08/12/2007 02:26

And I am going to but a glittery top! I am a fat bird and not very elegant, but I am going to be glittery adn Christmasssy courtesy of Evans!! But flat shoes for me - I have lost the ability to walk in heels since I had kids!.

Jambuttie · 08/12/2007 09:29

I will just have trousers and a top on most likely with flat shoes too

agalch · 08/12/2007 09:46

I will also be wearing a dress

I had a dress on last night too actually and i felt fine in it. Amazing what losing a bit of weight has done for me. The only other dress i have worn in the last 15 years is my wedding dress in April.

Can't wait till next week,so looking forward to meeting you all!!!

ProjectIcarus · 08/12/2007 09:52

aha - you wore it well done!

See you on tuesday .

agalch · 08/12/2007 18:27

Yes my friend threatened to lynch me if i didn't lol.

I have a docs appt at 9am but will be back hopefully for half past/quarter to.

Did you get a hold of your eyelash woman? I can do any night next week.

See you Tuesday

harrisey · 08/12/2007 20:27

I bought a fabulous bright (adn I mean BRIGHT pink shirt today to wear.

Am feeling rather about it!

prettybird · 08/12/2007 20:29

I've maneged to get a cancellation for next Saturday - so I'll be fully glammed up with a new hair-do! {fsmile]

I still haven't decided what to wear - all my stuff seems decidely frumpy - I really need to bring my wardrobe up-to-date, but don't have time to go shopping.

Harrisey - I've decided to get the 5.30 train over. I'll be wearing a bright red coat and could arrnge to stand my the ticket vending machines that are in the middle of the concourse (ie near the steps that take you done to George Square) at say, 5.15.

If we fail to meet up, let'shave a contingency plan of getting on the front (ie the furthest away on the platform) carriage - and each take a wee slip of paper that says Mumsnet that we can put on the table in front of us.

Do you think that would work?

prettybird · 08/12/2007 20:30

That was a that I tried unsuccessfully to use

bookthief · 08/12/2007 20:37

Ok, and I've got red hair and will be wearing a black coat with pink and white dots, and black boots. Will lurk by the ticket machines around 5.20 but come armed with my slip of paper as a fail-safe.

I got a new dress yesterday - first time I've bought a dress for years - so I'm getting quite excited (and practicing holding my stomach in. Think I may invest in a "foundation garment").

weewishyouamerryonion · 08/12/2007 20:44

ooooooh - a week to go. GMM - you are more than welcome to stay over at mine. i will have all the xmas pressies out of the spare room for then!

i am undecided as what to wear but a "foundation" undergrament may be a must. will try and sort something this week

what are the thoughts on namebadges????

agalch · 08/12/2007 21:45

Hmm i haven't made a badge as yet but was planning to. Is everyone else going to make one?

I bought a pair of Susannah and Trinnys magic knickers, can't breathe but does improve how i look in last nights dress.

mawbroonGotRunOverByAReindeer · 08/12/2007 21:55

I was planning to bring a pen and some labels for makeshift name badges, but will no doubt completely forget to organise it

I have been given a trouser suit. Are they at all fashionable? Or would it be a ridiculous thing to wear when the rest of you are all glizty and glam? I am so clueless.......

harrisey · 09/12/2007 08:47

Sounds good ladies. I wil also hng around there. I doubt I will be as glam as you, I dont do glam very well. I'm tall and yes, on the plump side, shoulder length brown hair. I'll be wearing the very very pink shirt, and depending on how Baltic I think Edinburgh is going to be, either a black skirt or black trousers. We were in Edinburgh yesterday and it was just freezing

Jambuttie · 09/12/2007 13:17

I was in Edinburgh yesterday too at winter wonderland- it was baltic!!!!!

Deffo wearing my trousers next week lol

SantasWhiskers · 09/12/2007 13:31

Jambuttie we were at the Winter Wonderland yesterday too! It was snowing

'twas bloody baltic tho' - you'll all want your thermals on next week
