Hello again,

Just a quick note to say how nice it was to meet you all yesterday. Thank you for making me feel welcome as I was feeling a little nervous about meeting a group of strangers.

Let's do it again soon!

Really nice to see everyone on Monday. Hope you're all having a good week...

splishsplosh · 20/09/2007 10:42

Hi, it was really nice to meet everyone on Monday, would be nice to meet again sometime.

Peachgirl, lots of people have mentioned Purley Nursery in Pampisford Road (the Purley end) has play sessions. I think they have quite a few a week, but can't remember when, maybe monday or tuesday though. They were on the info from Children's Info Service.

Also, don't know how far you like travelling, but someone else mentioned Castle Hill in New Addington has a free stay and play session, think it's 1-3 Mondays.

peachygirl · 20/09/2007 20:21

Thanks splishsplosh purley nursery would be great I thought one of their session was on a wednesday but I'll look into it

New to NM but keen to expand my social circle of almost zero adults. I'm a south croydon almost purley mum of 3 currently on maternity leave and always up for a cup of coffee. as you can tell by my basic message links and smileys are as yet beyond me...

teabag007 · 26/09/2007 14:07

It's time we started getting out and about and would like to meet some people! I'm a first time mum to Annabel, now nearly 3 months old and we're in Thornton Heath. I missed your last get together as I'm still getting my act together in getting out of the house at all, let alone committing to being somewhere at a particular time on a particular day! Hope to make the next one though, whenever/wherever that may be, so count me in please.
Does anyone go to NCT Thursday meets somewhere on Purley Way?
Need to get brave and bold and get out!

splishsplosh · 26/09/2007 20:05

I've been to the NCT group on Thursday a few times. It's a small group, seems very friendly, my dd is one of the oldest at 20 months, there are a mix of ages though.

I know it can be really hard to get organised and get out in the early days, but I found it really helped if I could get out and meet up with other mums

teabag007 · 02/10/2007 12:12

thanks splishsplosh, I think I'll give it a go.

splishsplosh · 09/10/2007 19:40

Teabag, did you make it to the nct group? My dd sleeps later in the day at the moment, so I never seem to make it to afternoon events any more, which is sad, cos she loved it so much at that group she cried when we had to leave the first time.

Anyone tried the surestart place in broadgreen? I went there last week for the first time, and it's lovely - it has a sensory room, soft play area, musical instruments, arty crafty bit and kitchen corner.

Amandoh · 12/11/2007 19:34

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well.

Just wanted to let you know that if you fancy a girly night out there's an evening meet up being planned over on the "West Sussex/Surrey area" meet up thread for the 29th of this month. As of yet an area/venue hasn't been decided but the last one was planned for Purley, which isn't too far from Croydon, so this next one should be local (ish) too.

Hello!

Probably a bit late here.. I guess you already had your cup of tea by now.. But since I'm pregnant for the first time (almost 23 weeks now..) I would love to meet up with woman from around this area. I live in Thornton Heath/Selhurst and since I'm from Holland as well, I would just love to meet woman with children or babies, because my friends here don't have any children. It might be fun for when the baby is born as well..

x Cynthia
