oooh when? DD is still quite little (6 months) and DH hasn't put her to bed yet.. still I could pop down for a glass of wine!

AuntieEm · 23/08/2007 16:59

Hi I'm in Purley too, has a date been set?

Mumpbump · 23/08/2007 17:00

Here's a link to the thread - 11th September is the designated date... Firewalker is organising!

West Sussex/Surrey thread

peachygirl · 23/08/2007 17:16

That thread is HUGE! I was merrily reading away then realised I was reading somethingfrom 05!
I don't think I can make it as I'm supposed to be at a meeting in central london that evening But if I don't go...

OP posts:
peachygirl · 23/08/2007 17:19

I'm going to give people til the end of Aug to respond about the Croydon meet up and then I will make an executive decision... Is that OK?

OP posts:
Firewalker · 24/08/2007 11:28

Peachygirl that's fine. Arrange the date and if I am around I will come along. Even if I'm at work, I could pop in and say hello as I work near there (won't have DD with me in that case, but at least I will be able to put faces to names, although I know Mumpbump as we meet up through another thread).

NattyThomasandEllen · 28/08/2007 21:07

ikea is a good idea. but croydon good for me too

i got a bit lost in the thread as it is so long and cant work out if we have actually set a date for it yet lol

will keep a closer eye on the thread now!

speak soon

natty

peachygirl · 28/08/2007 21:55

Hi all I will set a date on the 1st september. Then whoever can make it can come.

EzrasMummy · 28/08/2007 22:49

I wouldnt mind coming along too! Im not well known on MN as i dont post much. I live in Thornton heath and have a 4 month old

Bettymamma · 29/08/2007 11:37

I work on Mon and Tues unfortunately but will keep checking to see what gets planned and then will see if I can come.

Ikea does sound a good idea - very child and baby friendly!

(just to remind you - Caterham mum with almost 2yr old and 1 due new yrs eve!)

peachygirl · 29/08/2007 17:53

betty mama I'm a teacher so if the early sept one goes well I'll try to do one for a later weekday in half term.
I'll also not be offended if someone else wants to organise another meet up for a different day.
I think we may go for croydon first and then take it from there.

NattyThomasandEllen · 30/08/2007 17:27

ok 1st im coming! where and what time? ooo so exciting to know im gonna make sum new mums friends!
have we got a venue? i was thinking maybe food court in central shopping center. its a relativly confined space so the kids can have a little run around (if old enough!)
i have a 3 month old and a 16 months old.. so somewhere my oldest can run about safely is a must for me otherwise i will spend the whole time chasing him and not speaking to anyone lol

nain · 31/08/2007 12:30

Hi, Quite new to MN but live in S Croydon and expecting our 1st. Would love to meet some mums in the local area so count me in!

Amandoh · 02/09/2007 15:21

Hi all,

I'm in Caterham and would love to come along and meet you all. I'm not working so any day of the week is good for me. I don't drive so The Clocktower Cafe would be easier for me as the bus practically stops right outside but if you choose Ikea I'll see if I can get a lift.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Amanda x

peachygirl · 02/09/2007 20:58

OK FINAL DECISION TIME*

I think we should go for the clock tower cafe to begin with.
The date will be Monday 17th September at 2pm.

if it's popular we can choose somehwere else another time. The food court idea is also a good one. and I recently discovered a Cafe Giardinos in Allders on the 4th floor whcih has lots of room and is also quiet. They have a microwave for baby food and had Cbeebies on!!
