I like the sound of paying in advance through paypal

BreeVanDerCamp · 30/06/2007 19:45

Paypal in advance, no refunds for no shows. It must be doable, but I am a Paypal virgin.

Will give it some thought.

MarsLady · 30/06/2007 19:47

I like the paying in advance option!

Flamesparrow · 30/06/2007 19:48

I'm less likely to back out if I pay in advance too... and I can pay in September or something if its sorted early enough, so no pre-christmas panicking.

BreeVanDerCamp · 30/06/2007 19:51

Mars

You are reeeeeeeeeeech what you on about ?

MarsLady · 30/06/2007 19:53

Why don't you organise the evening Bree? You're good at that!

UCM · 30/06/2007 19:54

Don't you all remember last year when we looked a a boat thingy. That was cool.

Custardo, willing to help you this year as not up the duff and not likely to be as DH having snip within 3 weeks

UCM · 30/06/2007 19:54

Bree I have paypal and accept everything

Gingermonkey · 30/06/2007 19:57

but honestly - if I was to venture on the train and come down there to london would you be nice to me? Or is everyone going to ignore me (like now?). I'm not a real Northerner, I don't wear a flat cap or have any pigeons.

BreeVanDerCamp · 30/06/2007 19:57

But I learnt from you Mars,so 'twould be rude to do so.

UCM · 30/06/2007 20:03

Yes Mars you promised the run the book swap but let me down - hrrmph

BreeVanDerCamp · 30/06/2007 20:04

Of course we would be nice to you. We were nice to GingerBear and she still talks to us.

Gingermonkey · 30/06/2007 20:10
  1. Custy - the great organiser
2. MarsLady - only if she brings cake 3. Boris- Yes she really is going to London on her own again 4. Kimi 5. Bree/MrsGordonRamsay/LGJ/DoorstoManual (trying to decide who is going, they are all on their best behaviour at the moment.) 6. Carmenere - Oh what will I wear?? Jeans and a nice top I expect. 7. hat even if no-one ever remembers me 8. tranquilamanana (nee nappiesgalore - some of them are in pants now) and i so vote for that place LGJ is harping on about. 9. LTH - who is going to rid herself of her pathological fear of London (might stop her breeding again) 10. Suew who hasn't been on a 'proper' mumsnet meet-up since 2001 11. VVVQV - looking forward to post-wedding wind-down in absence of a honeymoon 12. Sallystrawberry 13. Flamesparrow - and StG better get her arse on this list too 14.Gingermonkey - travelling on a train all the way from Yorkshire, Oop North (where there are floods and stuff)

Count me in then!!!! There's a Gingerbear? Maybe we are distantly related?

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2007 20:50

Well since flame's decided she's staying at mine for it, I'd better put my name down!

UCM · 30/06/2007 20:57

I can't remember what the maths Cust normally does are but they go something like this.

190 people will put their names down on the list

50 people will actually come

Tortington · 30/06/2007 21:05

one third drop out. i use the same theory for work events i organise. always a third.so if say 75 people say they wil come AND crucially pay! at £40 that i £3k up front

if then only 50 turn up its the bill is 2K leaving 1K surplus. which means that we can actually get a bar tab for the other £1k

i'm not organising

UCM · 30/06/2007 21:20

So errrrrrrrrrr Bree, you were saying.........

Oh it wasn't you it was Mars, she was saying that you are really good at organising this sort of thing.

SO ARE YOU UP FOR IT LADY, coz someone needs to this year. I will help.

MarsLady · 30/06/2007 21:24

I think you'll find I have too many birthing women to help you organise but BREE is fantastic at organising that sort of stuff. She always sorts the secret clique pizza stuff out.

Yes, so I heard, Mars, you are such a gopsip!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 30/06/2007 21:27

I've emailed one or two venues for prices and up front payment benefits.

I know a greek restaurant that has a similar set up to Da Marios that may be cheaper. They lay on dancing and entertainment too so could be worth looking into?

themaskedposter · 30/06/2007 21:28

OH YAY!

Chrissy meet up!!

Would LOVE to go again and will start planning everything now (ok - maybe tomorrow , or actually -tbh- November the day before!!)
