Any mums out there in Southampton area

Hi
Are there any mums out there in the Southampton/Hedge End area?
I have two kids one boy nearly 6 at school and a daughter nearly four who goes to nursery but am around after lunch during the week to meet up for an hour or two. Anyone else in similar situation? I do work but work shifts but would love to meet some new friends for me and DD.

I have a week off work next month starting the 11th June so could meet up that week. Play Shack in hedge End is pretty good (used to be Krazy Kingdom I think).

I am in lordswood with Izzie who is almost 8 months old. If you fancy meeting for a coffee somewhere one day I am in eastleigh quite often as my brother and sister-in-law live there also.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to meet up sometime in June. It looks like there are a few of us up for meeting new people and having a coffee. I live in Hedge End which is very close to Playshack (was krazy kingdom. I work full time but I work shifts and work opposites to DH so one of us is always around for the children.

What kind of times can you all do, I can do afternoons really as DS is at playschool in the mornings.

I can do anytime really. I work shifts so I get days off during the week as well as at weekends. My DD is at nursery 4 mornings a week tue-fri and she finishes at lunchtime but have to pick DS up from school at 3.20 but am around b4 that on the days I am not working.

Hi ILoveDolly some parts of SHirley aren't the best but I have a friend that lives in Shirley warren and is certainly in walking distance of the hopsital and I don't think she has any problems with where she is

I would be up foor a meet up but haven't really got any time off during the week so if any of you are up for a weekend meet that would be good

Yes we could all meet up in June. You mentioned the week of 10th June. I could probably do Friday 15th June. DD has nursery in the morning but could meet up after that but will have to leave wherever we go around 3pm as have to pick up DS from school. Anyone else want to meet up?

hi Ilovedolly - live in Shirley but very much "lower" Shirley!! We're about 5 mins drive from the hospital but probably wouldn't walk. Upper Shirley is nice - lots of my friends live there. The school is supposed to be good too and it is defintitely in walking distance of the hospital.

Depends how much you've got to spend (if you're buying) Shirley Warren is indeed withon spitting distance of the hospital and prices would be cheaper there than Upper Shirley.

Yes I can make Friday 15th, what time can you make it after nursery. My DS is supposed to be at playschool in the morning but as I have a week off with him I will probably try and spend some time with him instead.

There is a soft play area here called playshack (was formerly krazy kingdom) that is in Hedge End or where ever you want really.

So sorry I am a complete air head at the moment DP is off to sea in 3 weeks so everything is everywhere as he is sorting out and I start my new job in 2 weeks gulp!!!! Am pooing myself!!

Yes Friday is good for me 1.30 - where is play place though - I know the co-op and M&S.

Angela would be lovely to meet up I work mon-thursday so if you are free next Fri would be good to see you let me know!!

to everyone will add this to my favs and hopefully not go AWOL for so long!

Hi, I'm in Shirley too, ten minutes walk to the hospital, nearly upper Shirley but not really! I have a dd who will be 2 in August and another due in November.

The meet up sounds fun, but I work Fridays so will have to give it a miss - have never met with any other mumsnetters before and thought it would be good. Nevermind, there'll always be another occasion I'm sure...

Sorry I didnt get back in touch Eve, I have been on holiday so dissapointed I missed the friday meet. Friday afternoons are not too bad fo me Izzie has swimming in the morining so will be quite tired but should be okay.

Is anyone looking to arrange another meet? (Izzie is 8 months old)

Holiday was fantastic thanks. Over too quickly. My in-laws live in Spain so went out in March which was great. You guys should have a great time. If you can remember which link the Itchen meet is that would be great. Otherwise we can try and set another one up through here?
