Hi
Are there any mums out there in the Southampton/Hedge End area?
I have two kids one boy nearly 6 at school and a daughter nearly four who goes to nursery but am around after lunch during the week to meet up for an hour or two. Anyone else in similar situation? I do work but work shifts but would love to meet some new friends for me and DD.

Hello mumof2monsters

I live in Fair Oak in Eastleigh, I have one DS that will be 4 in August.

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 09:57

Hi
Rosepetal1
Fair oak is not far from me. I guess you DS will start school in September?
My little girl is not four until November so she won't start school until next year unfortunately as she is so ready.
Do you work at all?

Unfortunate for me I work full time, yes my DS starts school in September I am really dreading it as he will be so young. Where do you live?

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 20:49

Hi Rosepetal1

I live in Hedge End which is not too far from you. My little boy goes to Shamblehurst primary and my DD attends a nursery in the village.
I work shifts in Swanwick. Do you have any free time during the week or is it only at weekends?

At the moment it's mainly weekends but I do have a week off next month so maybe we could meet up then. I am actually looking into changing jobs and going part time but not 100% sure at the moment.
If you want you can e-mail me direct at [email protected]

Hiya,

I live in Chandlers for but am about to move to Woolston but I work full time in Fareham! I am about weekends though

Tommy · 18/05/2007 09:35

hello! I live in Shirley and also have a DS who is 4 in August!

Whoops - when are you moving? Whereabouts? I was brought up in Woolston and my parents are still there.

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 09:38

Hiya Tommy how are you? We moved over to Woolston/Weston way in the end and dd is now at weston park - think this will be the last move for a long long time!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:02

Tommy - Hopefully we'll actually move next weekend! although have just found out there are problems with ID for our mortgage!
We are going to be near Woolston School on the main road

Tommy · 18/05/2007 11:02

glad to hear you're settled now zephyrcat.
We're all fine here - DS3 is 3 months old!

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 11:09

Fingers crossed for you Whoops! We're on a kitten mission at the moment !!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:14

Blimey! Whose idea is that?

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 11:26

DP's. Purely because ds is obsessed with cats so of course, we have to get him one Except we'd have to get 2 to keep company. We gave Gabi's cats away when we moved to a house that said no cats and she never got over it so he thinks it's a good idea!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:29

lol!
that'll be fun for you!
tell dp he'd much rather prefer a 8 seater

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 11:31

I said that to him yesterday, I said to worry about sorting the car out first so we can actually do things with the kids and get shopping etc He's dead set on the 8 seater tho

Thing is it's not him that has to look after the cats, same as the kids, he gets away from all the crap stuff ad gets the hugs after work!

Tommy · 18/05/2007 11:34

do you knowm where you're getting your kittens form zeph?

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:41

Yes I know what you mean!
Our 2 keep asking for a pet & I can't see why not when we move something like a fish that is easy to keep while we are out all day! DH doesn't think it's a good idea cos of having to explain things when they die

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 11:55

Not a clue Tommy - do you know anyone who has some?!

We've had a rat die already (not the ones we've got now) and Mum's cat met a rather nasty end so I explained those to dd but she still doesn't get it! These will have to be indoor cats so will likely live to a grand old age!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:57

Yes my comment was what would he do when his Mum's dogs peg it! as the kids love them! Plus ds is doing about the circle of life and stuff at school so is aware that things have to die

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 12:01

Exactly! I'd rather dd have the basics in her head now that when she is 12 and it ruins her life!

so is yur ID problem something you can overcome quickly?

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 12:03

yes it has been sorted (I think!)
So we should be all set for moving bank holiday weekend!!

zephyrcat · 18/05/2007 12:04

Excellent

Tommy · 18/05/2007 17:10

I thought I did zephyr but my friend has found homes for them all now. I think they had a few in the Echo - might be worth a look.

mumof2monsters · 19/05/2007 14:30
